RGCB Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB), Thiruvananthapuram, an institute under the Department of Biotechnology, is hiring a Project Associate-I for an ANRF-funded research project. The project is titled "Identification and Functional Characterization of Novel Short IRES Elements for Effective Circular RNA Translation: An Emerging Platform for Vaccines/Therapeutics".

You will work in the laboratory of Dr. Arun Sankaradoss, Scientist C. The work sits at the meeting point of circular RNA biology and virology, so it suits you if you have a Life Sciences master's degree and have already spent time on mammalian cell culture or laboratory animals. This is a temporary project post, open only to Indian citizens.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Experience must be documented: you need at least two years of documented experience in mammalian cell culture or handling laboratory animals, along with in-depth knowledge of virology.
• Fellowship tests help: clearing CSIR-UGC NET (LS), GATE, DBT-BET, ICMR, DST-INSPIRE, JEST or JGEEBILS is listed as desirable, not essential.
• Lab skills that count: experimental virology (virus culture, titration, in vivo challenge, pathology), RNA isolation, protein gel electrophoresis, Western blotting and BSL-2 microbiology work all strengthen your application.
• Pay: the monthly amount follows the prevailing ANRF guidelines; the notice does not print a figure.
• Tenure: the post starts for one year or until the project ends, whichever is earlier, and can be extended based on your performance review.
• No future claim: selection does not entitle you to any future position at RGCB, permanent or otherwise; the post ends with the project.
