SCTIMST Project Technical Support II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, is hiring Project Technical Support II field staff for a foreign-funded public health study, project P-5510. The study looks at how to improve primary health care for people with non-communicable diseases during severe floods in India. SCTIMST is an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

This is a temporary, purely contractual engagement filled through a walk-in interview, so there is no written application to send. The work happens in the field, not at a desk — you will visit homes and communities across Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram districts. If you come from a social work, sociology or life sciences background, have some survey or field data experience and speak Malayalam fluently, this post is a good fit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely on contract for six months. It is not a regular SCTIMST post.
• Language: You must be fluent in Malayalam, because the screening, consent and interviews are done with local families.
• Driving licence: A valid two-wheeler driving licence is compulsory, since the job involves community field visits and household surveys.
• Field travel: You should be ready for regular community visits and local travel across the four project districts.
• District preference: Candidates from Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta or Thiruvananthapuram districts get preference.
• Screening test: If a large number of candidates turn up, SCTIMST may first hold a qualifying written test. Only those who clear it go on to the interview, and the test marks do not count in the final ranking.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form for this post. Report in person at the Ground Floor, AMCHSS Building, SCTIMST, Medical College Campus, Thiruvananthapuram by 1:30 pm on the walk-in day; the interview itself begins at 2:30 pm.

Bring your bio-data, your original certificates and a set of copies that prove your age, qualification and experience. Reporting time is an hour before the interview, so plan to reach the campus early.
