The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) is hiring faculty members across 10 academic groups. If you hold a Ph.D. and want to teach and research at India's premier Triple Crown-accredited management school, this is your chance. Positions are available at the Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor Grade I, and Assistant Professor Grade II levels. Salary follows 7th CPC norms, starting from Rs. 1,01,500 per month and going up to Rs. 2,20,200 per month. The last date to apply is July 1, 2026.

IIM Calcutta, established in 1961 as the first national-level management institution by the Government of India, is looking for talented academicians and researchers to join its faculty. The Institute holds the rare Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA) and is the only Indian business school in the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS). Positions Available

IIM Calcutta is recruiting faculty across the following 10 academic groups:

• Business Ethics & Communications — Assistant Professor for Ethics (Ph.D. in Philosophy preferred); Assistant Professor for Communication (Ph.D. in Communication)
• Economics — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor with focus on Macroeconomics
• Finance & Control — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Financial Reporting, Asset Pricing, FinTech, Alternative Investment, or BFSI
• Human Resource Management — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Strategic/Operational HRM and Employee/Labor Relations
• Management Information Systems — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Cloud Computing, AR/VR, Social Media Analytics, Data Engineering, IoT, and related areas
• Marketing — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Sales, Distribution, Brand Management, Consumer Culture Theory, Digital Marketing, and Analytics
• Operations Management — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Operations Research, Quantitative Techniques, or related areas
• Public Policy and Management — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Healthcare Policy/Management/Public Health (Doctors/Surgeons with Ph.D. can also apply)
• Strategic Management — Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and International Business
• Organizational Behaviour — Faculty positions as per institute requirements

Who Can Apply?

Professor

• Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree in the relevant area
• Minimum 10 years of teaching/industry/research experience
• At least 4 years at Associate Professor level at IIMs or peer institutes in India or abroad
• Strong record of publications in reputed journals and refereed conferences

Associate Professor

• Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree in the relevant area
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/industry/research experience
• At least 3 years at Assistant Professor level at IIMs or peer institutes
• Adequate experience of independent research with publications in reputed journals

Assistant Professor Grade I

• Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree in the relevant area
• At least 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience (excluding Ph.D. period)
• Demonstrated research capabilities through publications

Assistant Professor Grade II (Contractual)

• Eligible candidates with less than the required experience may be considered on contract
• May be converted to regular Assistant Professor Grade I after fulfilling experience requirements and satisfactory performance

Salary

Salary and allowances follow Government of India norms (7th CPC):

• Professor (Level 14A): Rs. 1,59,100 - 2,20,200 per month
• Associate Professor (Level 13A2): Rs. 1,39,600 - 2,11,300 per month
• Assistant Professor Grade I (Level 12): Rs. 1,01,500 per month (entry level) plus allowances
• Assistant Professor Grade II: As per GoI rules for contractual positions

Selection Process
