ICAR-IARI is hiring 2 Senior Research Fellows (SRF) at the Division of Genetics, New Delhi for two ICAR-funded mustard research projects. ICAR-IARI Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Division of Genetics at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi has released a notification for 2 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) posts in two ICAR-funded mustard research projects — CRP-MB and IRA (Mustard). The engagement is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project. Freshers with NET qualification or a Ph.D. can also apply. The work involves molecular breeding and tolerance research in mustard crops.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications

• You must have a Master's degree in Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Biotechnology.
• If your Master's was based on a 4 or 5 year Bachelor's degree, you are directly eligible.
• If your Master's was based on a 3 year Bachelor's degree, you must have qualified UGC / CSIR / ICAR NET or equivalent, OR hold a Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines.

Desirable

• Experience in the use of molecular markers
• Bioinformatics skills

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST and women candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation

Salary

• Fellowship: Rs. 37,000 per month (fixed)
• Plus 30% HRA (House Rent Allowance)
• Total emoluments are paid as per ICAR memorandum F. No. Ag. Edn.6/27/2014-HRD dated 30-08-2019.
• The posts are contractual and initially valid up to 30 September 2026, co-terminus with the project.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is purely on the basis of an online interview:

1. Application Screening: Applications received by email by 9 June 2026 will be screened for eligibility.
2. Online Interview: Eligible candidates will be informed by email about the date and time of the online interview.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of appointment.

Only candidates having the essential qualifications will be called for the online interview.
