ICAR IARI SRF Agricultural Economics Recruitment 2026

ICAR-IARI Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is engaging Senior Research Fellows in its Division of Agricultural Economics at New Delhi. The project-based appointments cover precision farming and sustainable food systems in indigenous tribal communities. A project-title correction accompanies the original notice, so read the advertisement and corrigendum together when choosing your research stream.

Posts and Disciplines

• Precision farming research: The corrected project is titled “Bridging Technology and Agriculture: Understanding the spread of Precision Farming in India”. It replaces the agricultural-policy-analysis project title printed in the original advertisement.
• CARISMMA sustainable food system study: This DBT Wellcome India Alliance-funded project concerns understanding, reviving, supporting, monitoring and managing sustainable food systems to address malnutrition in indigenous tribal communities in India.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: Both appointments are listed up to 31 March 2027. The CARISMMA project may continue further, but the notice does not promise an extension to your appointment.
• Contract status: Your position ends with its project. The engagement does not give you a right to a regular appointment at ICAR-IARI.
• Family connections: You must disclose whether a near or distant relative works at ICAR or IARI. The declaration is also compulsory when you have no such relative.
• Accuracy of your claims: False information or hidden facts can lead to rejection or termination. The institute also treats canvassing as a reason for disqualification.

Application Submission Notes

Send your application to bioversityagecon@gmail.com using the format attached to the notification. The recruitment uses email applications and an online interview; the notice does not name a separate application portal.

The form asks for two references with phone numbers and email addresses. It also provides space for your research publications and additional information, allowing you to present the relevant details in the prescribed format.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Corrigendum dated 7 October 2026: ICAR-IARI replaced the first project's title with the precision-farming title shown above. It expressly keeps the remaining contents, terms and conditions of the original advertisement unchanged.
