ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), Division of Agronomy, has released a notification for 2 contract posts under the ICAR National Fellow project "Investigating the transformative impact of conservation agriculture adoption levels on ecosystem services and carbon credit generation". The selection is through online interview only — no written exam. Both posts are unreserved and co-terminus with the project (initial one-year engagement, extendable based on performance, project duration is five years).

Who Can Apply?

For Research Associate (RA):

• Essential: Ph.D in Agricultural Physics / Agricultural Engineering / Agricultural Meteorology / Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing & GIS / Environmental Sciences
• OR: Master's degree in the above subjects with 4/5 years Bachelor's degree, First Division or 60% marks, with at least 3 years of research experience and one research paper in SCI / NAAS rated (≥4.0) journal
• Desirable: Experience in remote sensing data with crop models, proficiency in Python/R/IDL/MATLAB, ENVI/GEE, machine learning in agricultural research

For Senior Research Fellow (SRF):

• Essential: Master's degree in Agronomy with 4/5 years Bachelor's degree
• OR: Post-graduate in Basic Sciences (3+2 pattern) with NET qualification and 2 years of research experience
• Desirable: Experience in field experiments, soil and plant sample handling, conservation agriculture, precision nutrient management, data analysis

Age Limit

• Research Associate (RA): Maximum 40 years (men) / 45 years (women)
• Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Maximum 35 years (men) / 40 years (women)
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwD as per GoI/ICAR rules

Salary

• Research Associate (Master's holders): Rs. 61,000 per month + HRA
• Research Associate (Ph.D holders): Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA
• Senior Research Fellow (1st & 2nd year): Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA
• Senior Research Fellow (3rd year onwards): Rs. 42,000 per month + HRA

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is in two stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on eligibility criteria, educational performance, and relevant research experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email.
2. Online Interview: Conducted on 10 June 2026 at 10:00 AM through virtual mode. The interview link will be shared with shortlisted candidates only.
