ICAR-IARI is hiring 1 Research Associate-I in the Division of Genetics, New Delhi. If you have a Ph.D. in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Biotechnology or equivalent, or 3 years research experience with an SCI paper, you can attend the walk-in interview. ICAR-IARI Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) has released a walk-in interview notice for a Research Associate-I position under the DBT funded project on wheat resistance genes. The work is attached to the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. This is a temporary project post initially up to 26 December 2026 or until the project ends, whichever is earlier.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Biotechnology or equivalent degree.
• Alternative Eligibility: Candidates with 3 years of research experience and at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal can also apply as per the DST OM mentioned in the notification.
• Desirable Experience: High throughput marker analysis, bioinformatics tools and field crop phenotyping experience.
• Project Area: Wheat genetics, plant breeding and resistance gene mapping for multiple biotic stresses.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years for Research Associate-I
• SC/ST and women candidates: 5 years relaxation
• OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation
• Age will be checked as per the interview and institute rules.

Salary

• Fixed fellowship: Rs. 47,000 per month
• HRA: 24% as mentioned in the notification
• Approximate monthly amount with HRA: Rs. 58,280

Selection Process

Selection will be through a walk-in interview at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.
