ICAR IARI Research Assistant Entomology Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi is hiring a Research Assistant in its Division of Entomology. The contractual post belongs to the project Integrative taxonomy of bee fauna of India, led by Dr. Debjani Dey under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Widushi Scheme. The assignment is tied to the research project, rather than a regular institute appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: Your contract will cover six months or the remaining project duration, whichever is shorter. Further six-month extensions depend on satisfactory performance, reviewed by the Principal Investigator.
• Project duration: The project runs until August 2030. This does not mean the initial appointment lasts until then. Continued engagement depends on the review and extension conditions in the notice.
• No regular appointment: The assignment ends with the scheme. It gives you no claim to a regular post at IARI, and the notice provides no re-engagement after the scheme ends.
• Leaving the assignment: You may leave by giving one month's notice. Failure to carry out assigned work or maintain discipline can lead to termination under ICAR rules.
• Travel costs: You must cover your own travel and other interview expenses. IARI will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending.
• Family connections: If a close or distant relative works at ICAR or IARI, disclose their name, designation, duties and relationship in the prescribed declaration. Failure to disclose this information can lead to disqualification.
• Recruitment conduct: Concealing facts or canvassing may lead to disqualification or termination. The competent authority's decision is final, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi.
