ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi is hiring 1 Project Technical Support-I on a contractual basis under an ICMR Intermediate Grant project. If you have a Graduate degree (3 years) in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Food Chemistry / Food Science / Biochemistry or allied disciplines with 1 year of relevant experience, you can attend the walk-in interview. The interview is on 10 June 2026 at 10:00 AM. Total monthly fellowship is Rs. 23,400 (Rs. 18,000 + 30% HRA).

ICAR-IARI Project Technical Support-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Division of Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi has invited qualified candidates for a walk-in interview for 1 post of Project Technical Support-I under the ICMR Intermediate Grant project titled "Indigenized low-cost coconut milk based low-protein diet — A panacea for metabolic management of IEM in organic acidemias and urea cycle disorders" (CC-PI: Dr. Neelam Upadhyay). The position is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project, with an initial appointment for one year extendable yearly based on performance.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications

• Degree: Three years Graduate degree in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Dairy Chemistry / Food Chemistry / Food Science and Technology / Food Science and Nutrition / Biochemistry and allied disciplines.
• Experience: One year of experience in the relevant subject.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in novel product development
• Experience in biochemical techniques
• Experience in bio-statistics

Other Requirements

• A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required if you are currently working.
• Bio-data must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure 1) with all academic qualifications from 10th Standard onwards.

Age Limit

• Age limit will be as per the guidelines of the funding agency (ICMR).

Salary

• Monthly fellowship: Rs. 18,000 per month + 30% HRA = Rs. 23,400 per month for I and II year.
• Increment of 5% on initial pay after completion of every two years, subject to performance review.
• The post is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project — no claim for regular appointment.

Selection Process

Selection is through a single-stage walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Candidates must report at the venue with original and attested copies of all certificates from 10th Standard onwards.
2. Academic Score Calculation: Based on percentage marks from 10th to highest qualification (do not skip — incomplete marks data means no academic score awarded).
3. Walk-in Interview: Qualified candidates appear before the selection committee. Interview time will be allotted separately after certificate verification.

No travel/daily allowance will be paid for attending the interview.

2. Fill the bio-data with complete academic details from 10th Standard onwards, including % marks, distinction/medals, and university details.
3. Affix a recent attested passport-size photograph on the bio-data.

• Work on the ICMR-funded research project on coconut milk-based low-protein diet for IEM in organic acidemias and urea cycle disorders
• Assist in novel food product development and formulation under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
• Conduct biochemical analyses and laboratory experiments as per the project protocol
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and results
• Help with bio-statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Prepare progress reports, research notes, and contribute to publications
• Follow lab safety guidelines and standard operating procedures of the Division
• Coordinate with project staff, ICMR collaborators, and clinical partners as required
