ICAR-IARI New Delhi is holding a walk-in interview for 2 project posts in the Division of Plant Pathology. The posts are Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Laboratory Assistant / Field Worker. ICAR-IARI JRF and Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi has released a walk-in interview notice for a DBT-funded project on aflatoxigenic Aspergillus species in maize and its management through non-toxigenic Aspergilli. The posts are purely contractual and co-terminus with the project. This is a good fit for candidates with plant pathology, microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, life sciences or biological science backgrounds.

Who Can Apply?

Junior Research Fellow

• Essential Qualification: You need a postgraduate degree in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or a relevant Life Sciences discipline.
• Selection Route: Your PG/Professional course should be linked with CSIR-UGC NET, GATE or a national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments, agencies or institutions such as DBT, DST, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc or IISER.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in plant pathological techniques, resistance screening, molecular biology techniques, real-time PCR, data analysis, interpretation and report writing will help.

Laboratory Assistant / Field Worker

• Essential Qualification: You need a B.Sc. or Graduate degree in Science.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in biological science, agriculture or biology-related subjects is preferred.
• Lab Work: Basic laboratory maintenance, lab techniques, cleaning and greenhouse plant maintenance experience will help.

Age Limit

• Junior Research Fellow: Maximum age is 35 years.
• Laboratory Assistant / Field Worker: Maximum age is 50 years.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates and women get 5 years relaxation. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation.

Salary

• Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month plus 27% HRA for the 1st and 2nd year.
• Junior Research Fellow 3rd Year: Rs. 42,000 per month plus 27% HRA.
• Laboratory Assistant / Field Worker: Rs. 20,000 per month plus 27% HRA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be done through a walk-in interview and document verification.

1. Reporting: Reach the Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi by 09:00 AM on 02 July 2026.
2. Screening: Only applicants who meet the essential qualifications will be interviewed.
3. Interview: The selection committee will assess your qualification, project fit, research/lab experience and subject knowledge.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates will be checked at the time of interview.
5. Late Reporting Rule: Applicants reporting after 10:00 AM will not be considered for interview.
