The Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi has invited applications for 2 contractual posts under a research project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). The project works on developing mild strain-cross protected Khasi mandarin planting material to manage citrus decline caused by Citrus tristeza virus in Northeast India. These are purely temporary posts tied to the project, so you cannot claim a permanent job at the institute later.

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Essential: Master's degree in Genetics, Plant Pathology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or any relevant Life Sciences discipline
• Desirable: Research experience in Genomics or Molecular biology techniques

For Scientific & Administrative Assistant or Field Worker

• Essential: Graduate in any discipline
• Desirable: Experience in computer applications, keeping official records, working in a laboratory, handling lab equipment, and maintaining plant growth facilities in a greenhouse

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 40 years for men and 45 years for women, as on the date of this advertisement.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and women, and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Salary

• Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month plus 27% HRA (fixed)
• Scientific & Administrative Assistant / Field Worker: Rs. 18,000 per month plus 27% HRA (fixed)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on screening of applications followed by an interview:
