IARI SRF and YP I Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is engaging a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Young Professionals-I (YP-I) for vegetable research at Pusa, New Delhi. The Division of Vegetable Science is recruiting for projects funded by the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPV&FRA) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). These are project contracts tied to the work and funding of the respective projects.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Research Fellow: This position belongs to the PPV&FRA-funded project on DUS testing in lettuce and summer squash. It is separate from the cucumber project covered by the same advertisement.
• Young Professional-I: These positions belong to the ICAR Central Corpus Fund National Priority Project on fine mapping and marker-assisted introgression of extended post-harvest shelf life in cucumber. The notice distinguishes laboratory-oriented and crop-experiment experience within this group.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your engagement lasts for one year or until the concerned project ends or is terminated, whichever comes first. Any extension depends on the applicable project or funding-agency rules.
• No regular appointment: The posts end with their respective projects. Working on a project does not give you a claim to absorption, a regular appointment or continued employment at ICAR-IARI.
• Institute rules: You must follow laboratory safety, biosafety and data-security requirements throughout the engagement. These conditions apply to your handling of project work and test results.
• Confidentiality and ownership: Project data and laboratory results must remain confidential. Data, material, know-how and intellectual property generated during your tenure belong to ICAR-IARI.
• Family declaration: Every applicant must complete the prescribed declaration. If a close or distant relative works at ICAR or IARI, disclose the relationship and the employee details requested in that form.
• Accuracy and conduct: False claims, concealed facts or attempts to influence recruitment can lead to rejection or termination. Check your entries carefully before signing the application and declaration.
• Attendance costs: IARI will not reimburse travel, daily allowances or other interview expenses. Plan your visit on the basis that you will meet these costs yourself.
• Other conditions: The selection committee’s decision is final. Disputes fall under the competent courts in New Delhi, and Young Professional appointments also follow the applicable ICAR guidelines.
