ICAR-IARI Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi has announced an online interview for one Project Associate-I post under the CCRH sponsored project Field assessment of the efficacy of Homoeopathic medicines as biostimulants for improving yield in mung bean. The post is temporary, contractual, and co-terminus with the project. The initial engagement is for 1 year or project duration, whichever is earlier, and it may be extended each year based on satisfactory performance and project continuation.
This role is suitable for plant science and life science postgraduates who want research exposure in field-based crop physiology work. The project focuses on testing homoeopathic medicines as biostimulants for improving yield in mung bean, so field work research experience is preferred. The notice clearly states that the position does not create any right for regular appointment at IARI or ICAR.
Vacancy Details
- Project Associate-I: 1 post
- Project: CCRH sponsored mung bean biostimulant field assessment project
- Work unit: Division of Plant Physiology, IARI New Delhi
Who Can Apply?
Essential Qualification
- Qualification: You need a Master's degree in Plant Physiology, Botany, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Life Science, or an equivalent subject.
- Equivalent qualification: A closely related plant/life science postgraduate qualification may be considered if it matches the project requirement.
Preferred Experience
- Field work: Research experience in field work is preferred.
- Research fit: Experience in plant growth, crop studies, physiology observations, field data collection, or trial documentation will be useful.
Age Limit
- Maximum age for Project Associate-I: 35 years.
- OBC relaxation: 3 years as per government guidelines.
- SC/ST and women candidates: 5 years relaxation as per government guidelines.
- Age will be considered with reference to the application closing date, 30 May 2026.
Document completeness is very important for this IARI post. The application proforma asks for education from high school onward, national-level exam details such as NET/GATE/BET if applicable, experience, project or thesis work, publications, and declarations about relatives working in ICAR/IARI.
Salary
- Monthly salary: Rs. 31,000 per month.
- HRA: 24% HRA per month in addition to the salary.
- The post is temporary and contractual, so regular staff benefits are not mentioned in the notice.
Selection Process
Selection will be through an online interview after application screening.
- Email application: Send the application and certificates as one PDF before the deadline.
- Academic score review: Fill marks from 10th standard to highest qualification, because the notice says academic scores are calculated from the submitted details.
- Document check: Attach qualification, age, category, experience, NOC, NET/GATE/BET and publication documents wherever applicable.
- Online interview: Shortlisted applicants will attend the interview online as per IARI instructions.
- Original verification: Original documents will be verified before the offer letter is issued.
- Single PDF check: Date of birth proof, category certificate if claiming relaxation, mark sheets, degrees, national-exam proof, experience proof, NOC, and publication pages should be merged with the application.
How to Apply
- Use the Application Proforma given in the notification.
- Fill in your project name, post applied for, personal details, date of birth, category, email, phone number, education, NET/GATE/BET details, experience, thesis/project work, publications, and declarations.
- Attach the required certificates and merge everything into one PDF of suitable size.

- If currently employed, attach a No Objection Certificate from your employer.
- If pursuing PhD, attach a No Objection Certificate from the university authority if applicable.
Do not leave the marks column blank in the proforma. The notice says academic scores are calculated from the marks and certificates you submit, so missing marks can reduce the score awarded during screening.
Age-relaxation proof matters: If you are claiming OBC, SC/ST, women-category relaxation, or differently-abled certificate benefit, attach the relevant certificate with the single PDF. IARI also asks applicants to declare whether a near or distant relative works in ICAR or IARI.
Contract note: The IARI notice says there is no provision for re-engagement after the scheme ends. Treat this as a project-based research opening, not a permanent ICAR appointment.
