HPRCA is hiring 41 Pharmacy Officers (Allopathy) on Job Trainee basis under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh. If you have 10+2 in Science plus a Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy and are registered with the Pharmacy Council, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 20 May 2026. Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur has released Advertisement No. 11/2026 dated 18 April 2026, inviting online applications for 41 Pharmacy Officer (Allopathy) – Job Trainee posts (Post Code: 26043) under the Health & Family Welfare Department of HP. The engagement is as per the Job Trainee Scheme-2025 notified by the Department of Personnel vide notification No. PER(AP)-C-B(15)-3/2024 dated 19.07.2025, making it a State Cadre post. Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) only — there is no interview.

Who Can Apply?
Essential Qualifications
- Education: You must have passed 10+2 in Science from a recognised Board of School Education.
- Pharmacy Degree/Diploma: You must hold a Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised University or Institution duly recognised by the Central/State Government.
- Registration: You must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of the concerned State or Central Government.
- Schooling in HP: You must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any school/institution situated in Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
Desirable Qualification
- Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions of the Pradesh.
Special Provision
- Candidates who have done a Diploma in Pharmacy prior to 12 September 2001 and are matriculates shall also be eligible.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 45 years
- Age is reckoned as on 01 January 2026.
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-servicemen who are domiciles of Himachal Pradesh, as per state government rules — subject to a maximum age of 45 years in any case.
- HP Government employees are also eligible for age relaxation as permissible under state rules.
Salary
- Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly fixed amount of Rs. 18,000/- per month.
- This engagement is under the Job Trainee Scheme-2025 of the HP Department of Personnel.
- This is a State Cadre post.

Selection Process
Selection is done in 2 stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test: 120 questions for 120 marks, duration 1.5 hours (90 minutes). All questions are objective type (MCQ), with each question carrying 1 mark. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF candidates. In case of multiple exam shifts, scores are normalised using Z-Score Method.
- Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted from CBT are called for document verification. You must bring original certificates and self-attested photocopies of your online application form and all relevant documents.
No interview — final selection is based on CBT merit alone.

Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines and pharmaceutical supplies as per doctor prescriptions in government health facilities
- Maintain accurate records of drug stocks, dispensing logs, and expiry dates
- Store medicines under proper conditions and follow cold chain protocols where required
- Assist in conducting drug audits and inventory checks at the pharmacy
- Educate patients on correct usage, dosage, and side effects of prescribed medicines
- Follow all HP Health & Family Welfare Department guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Report adverse drug reactions and near-misses to the supervising medical officer
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on pharmacy operations and medicine utilisation

Exam Pattern
The Computer Based Test (CBT) will have 120 questions for 120 marks. You will get 1.5 hours (90 minutes) to complete the exam. Each question carries 1 mark. The exam is objective type (MCQ).

Minimum Qualifying Marks: At least 45% for General category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Ward of Freedom Fighters candidates. The HPRCA may relax qualifying marks by up to 5% if fewer candidates than the number of advertised posts qualify.
Exam Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR-based written exam, as decided by the Aayog. In case of multiple shifts, scores are normalised using Z-Score Method.
