State Bank of India (SBI) is hiring 1,538 Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) under a Special Recruitment Drive exclusively for SC, ST, and OBC backlog vacancies across 21 states and union territories. If you are a graduate in any discipline, you can apply online before 27 August 2026. You must be between 20 and 28 years old as on 01 April 2026. The starting basic pay is Rs. 24,050 per month, going up to Rs. 64,480 across the pay scale.

State Bank of India (SBI) Junior Associate Backlog Recruitment 2026 - 1538 Posts

State Bank of India has released Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16 to fill 1,538 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts in the clerical cadre. This is a Special Recruitment Drive reserved only for SC, ST, and OBC candidates to fill backlog vacancies — General and EWS candidates are not eligible to apply under this particular drive. Vacancies are spread across 21 states and union territories, and you can apply for only one state/UT of your choice. Note that this is a separate drive from SBI's regular Junior Associate recruitment (Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17), which is open to all categories.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university (as on 31 December 2026). Final-year students can also apply provisionally.
  • Category: Only SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates can apply under this special drive.
  • Language: You must be proficient in the local language of the state/UT you apply for. A language test is held after the Main exam — it is waived if your 10th/12th mark sheet shows you studied that language.
  • Current SBI clerical staff, and former SBI clerical staff who resigned, are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 20 and 28 years old as on 01 April 2026 (born between 02.04.1998 and 01.04.2006).
  • Age Relaxation: OBC candidates get 3 years, SC/ST get 5 years, PwBD (OBC) get 13 years, and PwBD (SC/ST) get 15 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service plus 3 years (8 years for disabled ex-servicemen from SC/ST), subject to a maximum age of 50 years.
  • Widows, Divorced and Judicially Separated Women: Additional relaxation of 7 years, as per bank norms.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will start on a basic pay of Rs. 24,050 per month, rising through the scale to Rs. 64,480 (Rs. 24,050-1340/3-28,070-1650/3-33,020-2000/4-41,020-2340/7-57,400-4400/1-61,800-2680/1-64,480).
  • You will also get Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other allowances as per bank rules — total starting monthly emoluments are typically around Rs. 40,000-46,000 depending on your posting location.

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen: No fee

Selection Process

You will be selected through three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Online test of 100 questions for 100 marks covering English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability, in 60 minutes with sectional timing. Tentatively held in September 2026.
  2. Main Examination: Online test of 190 questions for 200 marks covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, in 2 hours 40 minutes. Tentatively held in October/November 2026.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test: Held after you qualify the Main exam but before joining. It is waived if your 10th/12th mark sheet shows the specified local language.

Both exams have negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Only your Main exam marks count towards the final merit list, which is prepared state-wise and category-wise. Prelims marks are used only to shortlist candidates for the Main exam.

  3. Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and category details.
  4. Choose the one state/UT you want to apply for.
  5. Upload your photograph, signature, and required documents.
  6. Pay the application fee online (only OBC candidates need to pay; SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen are exempt).
  7. Submit the form and save a printout for your records.

  • Process cheques, demand drafts, and other clearing instruments
  • Support digital banking adoption by guiding customers on net banking and mobile apps
  • Follow KYC norms and bank compliance guidelines for all transactions
