Who Can Apply?

Junior Engineer (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering branch from a recognised university.
• Pass the Junior Engineer Professional Exam within 3 years of joining.
• Marathi language knowledge is mandatory.

JE Software / Computer Programmer

• B.E / B.Tech / M.C.A in Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years experience in programming / software development.

Staff Nurse / ANM / Pharmacist / Dialysis Tech

• HSC pass + relevant nursing or pharmacy diploma.
• Maharashtra Nursing Council / Maharashtra Pharmacy Council registration required.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience for Pharmacist and Dialysis Technician.

Fireman

• SSC pass + Fireman Training Course from National Fire Service College / All India Institute of Local Self Government / MSBTE-approved institute.
• Physical standards (male): Height min 165 cm, Chest 81-86 cm (5 cm expansion), Weight min 50 kg, good vision.
• Physical standards (female): Height min 162 cm, Weight min 50 kg, good vision.

Driver-Operator (Asst. Fire Station Officer service)

• SSC pass + Fireman Training + valid heavy vehicle driving licence.
• 3 years experience driving heavy vehicles.
• Same physical standards as Fireman.

Clerk-Typist / Anganwadi Teacher / Mistry / Plumber / Fitter / Pump Operator

• SSC or HSC pass + ITI or short course certificate in the trade.
• Marathi typing 30 WPM and English typing 40 WPM for Clerk-Typist.
• 2-3 years trade experience for technical posts.

Domicile required: You must hold a Maharashtra domicile certificate (15 years of residence) or have been born in Maharashtra.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age (Open): 38 years
• Maximum age (Reserved / Orphan): 43 years
• Fireman / Driver-Operator: Maximum 30 years (no relaxation)
• Asst. Fire Station Officer: Maximum 40 years
• PWD candidates: Maximum 45 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years extra
• Project-affected / Earthquake-affected: Maximum 45 years
• Graduate part-time employees: Maximum 55 years
• Age is reckoned as on the last date of application.

Salary

• S-6 posts (Plumber, Fitter, Clerk-Typist, Anganwadi Teacher, Pump Operator, Wireman, Electrician, Mistry): Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200
• S-7 posts (Fireman): Rs. 21,700 - Rs. 69,100
• S-8 posts (Driver-Operator, ANM, Surveyor, Sanitary Inspector, Anurekhak): Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100
• S-10 posts (Pharmacist): Rs. 29,200 - Rs. 92,300
• S-13 posts (Junior Engineers, Staff Nurse, Accountant, Dialysis Tech, Garden Officer, Asst. Fire Officer, Auditor, Librarian): Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400
• S-14 posts (Asst. Law Officer): Rs. 38,600 - Rs. 1,22,800
• Plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Maharashtra State Government rules.
• You will be covered under the NPS / DCPS contributory pension scheme.
• Probation: 2 years from the date of joining.

Physical Standards (Fireman, Driver-Operator, Asst. Fire Officer)

Male

• Height: Minimum 165 cm
• Chest: Normal 81 cm, expansion 5 cm minimum (so chest is 86 cm fully expanded)
• Weight: Minimum 50 kg
• Vision: Good (without glasses)

Female

• Height: Minimum 162 cm
• Chest expansion: Not applicable
• Weight: Minimum 50 kg
• Vision: Good (without glasses)

Selection Process

1. Online Examination - conducted by MBMC's appointed exam agency (admit card available 7 days before the test on www.mbmc.gov.in).
2. Physical Test - applicable only for Fireman, Driver-Operator, and Asst. Fire Station Officer posts. You must clear height, chest, weight, and vision standards.
3. Skill / Typing Test - Clerk-Typist must clear Marathi 30 WPM + English 40 WPM typing test.
4. Document Verification - originals checked for caste, domicile, education, and experience.
5. Medical Examination - by Civil Surgeon, Thane District before final appointment.
6. Final Merit List based on Online Exam marks (and Physical Test where applicable).

• Work shifts and emergency duties as required (especially Fireman, Driver-Operator, Nurse, Pump Operator)
• Assist the public visiting MBMC offices and respond to citizen complaints in Marathi
• Operate machines, vehicles, or tools (Plumber, Electrician, Fitter, Driver) as per safety norms
• Support inspection drives, sanitation rounds, and ward-level field work
• Attend training, refresher courses, and probation evaluations during the 2-year probation
