Selection Process
You will first appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 120 objective-type questions worth 120 marks, to be completed in 1.5 hours. If you are applying for Panchayat Secretary, you also need to clear a qualifying Typing Test. For certain healthcare posts, a Skill Test may be conducted. General category candidates need at least 45% marks in the CBT, while SC/ST/OBC candidates need 40%.
Preparation Tips for HPRCA CBT Exam
- Cover Himachal Pradesh GK thoroughly -- the exam includes General Knowledge of HP along with national current affairs
- Revise Everyday Science concepts -- basic physics, chemistry, and biology from your school textbooks will help
- Practice Logical Reasoning -- this section tests your analytical thinking with patterns, series, and puzzles
- Time management is critical -- 120 questions in 90 minutes means about 45 seconds per question
- Brush up on General English and Hindi at the Matric (10th standard) level for the language sections
