Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar, has released Advertisement No. 410/202627 dated 13 May 2026 for the special recruitment of Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Male), Class-3 under the Additional Director (Public Health), Health and Family Welfare Department of Gujarat. All 11 vacancies are reserved exclusively for male Divyang (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates across blindness/low-vision, locomotor and intellectual disability categories. This is a separate drive from the regular MPHW recruitment.

Educational Qualification

  • You must have completed a minimum one-year Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Basic) certificate course or Diploma from a Government-recognised institution.
  • OR a minimum one-year Sanitary Inspector Diploma from a Government-recognised institution.
  • Basic computer knowledge as per Gujarat Government rules.
  • Knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi is required.

  • Gender: Male candidates only.
  • Category: Only male candidates with a valid Benchmark Disability certificate (matching Group A, C, D or E) can apply.
  • Gujarat domicile is preferred for reservation benefits.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 36 years as on the last date of online application
  • Age Relaxation: PwBD candidates get an additional 10 years of relaxation. SC/ST/SEBC/EWS male candidates get 5 years. Women candidates from these categories are not applicable for this male-only drive.

Selection will be made in the following stages:

  2. Document Verification: Based on merit in the written exam.
  3. Disability Certificate Verification: Your Benchmark Disability certificate must be valid and match the group you applied under.
  4. Medical Examination

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer or blank if 'E - Not Attempted' is not chosen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive and promotive health services to families in your assigned rural or urban area
  • Conduct house visits, immunisation drives and antenatal/postnatal care under government health schemes
  • Spread awareness about communicable diseases, sanitation, nutrition and family planning
  • Maintain accurate health records, registers and monthly reports for the Primary Health Centre
  • Help organise health camps, vaccination sessions and outbreak control activities
  • Refer serious cases to the nearest PHC, CHC or government hospital on time
  • Assist Medical Officers and senior health staff during inspections and surveys

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Minimum one-year MPHW basic certificate course/diploma OR one-year Sanitary Inspector Diploma from a Government-recognised institution. Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi required.

Preferred Qualification

Gujarat domicile; additional health-sector certifications; experience in primary or community health services.

Field health work, community engagement, record keeping, basic computer use, Gujarati and Hindi communication
