GSSSB is hiring 14 Junior Pharmacist (Class-3) posts under the Health and Family Welfare Department of Gujarat. This is a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) reserved only for Divyang (Persons with Disabilities) candidates. Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released notification number 408/202627 for 14 Junior Pharmacist Class-3 posts under the Commissioner's Office for Health, Medical Services and Medical Education. This is a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) only for Divyang candidates — non-disabled candidates cannot apply. The selection is done through a Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) / OMR based MCQ exam.

Vacancy Breakdown by Disability Category

• Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D, HH): 7 posts
• Multiple Disabilities including ASD(M), SLD, MI, MD: 7 posts
• Total Vacancies: 14 posts

Note: No category-wise reservation (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) is kept under this Special Drive. However, if you belong to a reserved category, you can mention it in your application. Posts are not reserved separately for women or ex-servicemen under this SRD.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognised university; OR a Diploma in Pharmacy with about 2 years experience as a Junior Pharmacist in Government / Government Undertaking / Board, or as a Dispenser in a hospital / dispensary, or as a Pharmacist / Medical Representative in a Pharmaceutical Company.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).
• Disability: Only candidates with disabilities in groups B (D, HH) or D & E (ASD-M, SLD, MI, MD) with 40% or more benchmark disability can apply.
• Pharmacy Registration: If selected, you must register with the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council as per the Pharmacy Act, 1948 before joining.
• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 28 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation for Divyang candidates:
  • General Category Male: 10 years (max age 43)
  • General Category Female: 15 years (max age 45)
  • Reserved Category Male: 15 years (max age 45)
  • Reserved Category Female: 20 years (max age 45)
• Maximum age cannot exceed 45 years in any case.

Salary

• Fixed pay of Rs. 40,800 per month for the first 5 years of service.
• After 5 years (subject to satisfactory service), you will be moved to the regular pay scale of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 (Level-5) under the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.
• Note: The pay arrangement is subject to the decision of the Supreme Court in SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012.

• Divyang (PwD) candidates: Rs. 400/-
• Payment mode: Online only via Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI or Wallets on the OJAS website.
• The exam fee is refundable to candidates who actually appear for the exam.
• Last date for fee payment: 30 May 2026 (till 23:58).

Selection Process

Selection is based on a competitive exam in CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) / OMR format with MCQ questions. The exam will be conducted in two parts:

1. Part-A (60 marks): 60 questions covering Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Mathematical Aptitude.
2. Part-B (150 marks): 150 questions covering Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati and English Comprehension (30 marks), plus Pharmacy / subject-related questions (120 marks).
3. Total: 210 questions for 210 marks. Combined time: 3 hours (180 minutes).
4. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
5. Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B (separately).
6. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted at about 2x vacancies will be called for verification.

• Dispense medicines to patients as per doctor's prescription in government hospitals and dispensaries
• Maintain proper stock register of medicines, vaccines and surgical items
• Handle storage and labelling of drugs as per pharmacy guidelines
• Assist medical officers during ward rounds and emergency services
• Prepare and check ointments, mixtures and solutions when required
• Educate patients about correct medicine dosage, timing and side effects
• Keep records of expired medicines and submit disposal reports
• Follow Drugs and Cosmetics Act and pharmacy rules at all times
