Department of Defence Production (DDP) Contract Purchase Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Defence Production (DDP), which functions under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is responsible for policy formulation and coordination for India's defence production ecosystem. DDP oversees nine defence public sector undertakings and the Ordnance Factory Board. This recruitment is for filling one remaining post of Contract Purchase Officer - cum - Deputy Director on deputation basis. Who Can Apply?

Eligibility Route 1:

Eligibility Route 2:

  • Service Requirement: You must have completed 5 years of regular service in the grade after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level 10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500) of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, or in Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5,400 (pre-revised) or equivalent in your parent cadre or department.

Mandatory Experience (for both routes):

  • Experience: You need at least 5 years of experience in drafting and issuing contract documents, supply orders, and dealing with contractual matters related to purchase and supplies.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 56 years (as on the closing date of receipt of application, i.e., 02 April 2026).
  • This means you should have been born on or after 03 April 1970.

Salary

  • Pay at Level 11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix: Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
  • Pre-revised scale: Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,600.
  • You will also receive DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

There is no written exam for this deputation post. Selection is based on:

  1. Screening of Applications: Your bio-data, service record, and experience details will be reviewed by the Selection Committee.
  2. Assessment by Selection Committee: The committee will evaluate your qualifications, experience in contract and purchase matters, ACRs (Annual Confidential Reports), and overall suitability for the post.
  3. Document Verification: Your integrity certificate, vigilance clearance, cadre clearance, and attested ACR copies for the past 5 years will be verified.

Responsibilities

  • Handle drafting and issuance of contract documents for defence procurement projects
  • Prepare and process supply orders for defence equipment, stores, and services
  • Review and negotiate contractual terms with vendors, suppliers, and defence PSUs
  • Monitor contract execution and ensure timely delivery of contracted items
  • Manage contract disputes and coordinate resolution with legal and finance divisions
  • Maintain records of all purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation
  • Coordinate with various defence organisations and ordnance factories on supply matters
  • Assist senior officers in policy formulation related to defence purchase procedures

Central Government officer holding analogous post or with 5 years regular service in Level 10, plus 5 years experience in contract/purchase matters
