Department of Defence Production (DDP) under the Ministry of Defence has released a vacancy circular for 01 Deputy Planning Officer (International Co-operation & Export-I) post on deputation basis. Department of Defence Production (DDP) Deputy Planning Officer (ICE-I) Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post
Department of Defence Production (DDP), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has issued vacancy circular No. 18(1)/2026/DPO(ICE)/DP(A&C) dated 09 April 2026 for filling one post of Deputy Planning Officer (International Co-operation & Export-I) in the ICE Division of the Directorate of Planning and Coordination. The post will be filled by transfer on deputation from serving officers of the Indian Armed Forces or Group A officers from the civil cadre. This is a senior-level role in the defence sector dealing with international cooperation and defence exports.
Who Can Apply?
Serving Armed Forces Officers:
- Officers holding the substantive rank of Lt Col (Army) / Commander (Navy) / Wing Commander (Air Force)
Civilian Officers:
- All India Services officers holding the regular post of Deputy Secretary / Joint Director or their equivalent counterpart in IOFS / DRDO / DPSUs
- Officers of Central Civil Services, Group A, or officers holding regular analogous posts in DRDO/IOFS/DPSUs
Desirable Qualifications:
- Well conversant with international trade, security pacts/agreements, and international export scenario
- Overall performance should be well above average
- Technical Staff Course / DSC qualification is desirable
- Should not have been permanently superseded for promotion
Other Requirements:
- Residual service: Minimum 4 years from the date of issue of the vacancy circular (09 April 2026)
Salary
- Pay Level: Level 12/12A as per the 7th Central Pay Commission
- Basic pay starts from Rs. 78,800 per month (Level 12 entry pay)
- Service Officers on deputation will continue to draw their pay and allowances from respective CDAs
- Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules
Selection Process
There is no written exam for this post. Selection is based on:

- Administrative Clearance: Integrity certificate, vigilance clearance, and statement of major/minor penalty from the last 10 years

Responsibilities
- Facilitate high-level interaction between Defence Production units and foreign governments for international defence cooperation
- Administer and manage security-related international pacts and guidelines on defence matters
- Represent the Government's official position from the Department of Defence Production perspective on bilateral defence engagements
- Drive initiatives for international cooperation within the defence industry sector
- Identify strategic thrust areas for defence exports and resolve bottlenecks to streamline promotion of defence sector items
- Oversee and monitor progress of defence export and promotional activities across defence production units
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Serving officers at Lt Col/Commander/Wing Commander rank (Armed Forces) or Deputy Secretary/Joint Director level (All India Services/Group A/IOFS/DRDO/DPSUs)
Preferred Qualification
Well conversant with international trade, security pacts/agreements, and international export scenario. Technical Staff Course/DSC qualification desirable.
