Department of Defence Production (DDP) CEO/MD IRRPL Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence, Government of India has invited applications for filling up one post of Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director (CEO/MD) in M/s Indo-Russian Rifle Private Limited (IRRPL), New Delhi, on Deputation or Contract basis. IRRPL is an Indo-Russian joint venture that manufactures AK-203 assault rifles for the Indian Armed Forces at its facility in Korwa, Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh. This is a senior leadership position where the selected candidate will head the company and report directly to the Board of Directors.

About IRRPL

Indo-Russian Rifle Private Limited (IRRPL) is an assault rifle manufacturing facility established in 2019 under an Inter-Governmental Agreement between India and Russia. It is a joint venture between Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (42.5% stake), Concern Kalashnikov (42% stake), Munitions India Limited (8% stake), and Rosoboronexport (7.5% stake). The company has a paid-up capital of Rs. 100 Crore and is tasked with manufacturing AK-203 assault rifles for the Indian Armed Forces.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be an Engineering Graduate or Post Graduate in any discipline.
• Essential Experience: You must have worked for at least 5 years as Chief Executive Officer in manufacturing companies, or held an equivalent or higher position in the Indian Armed Forces.
• Desirable Experience: 25 years of professional experience in manufacturing or handling of weapon systems.
• Residual Service: You must have at least 3 years of residual service as on the date of vacancy (09 Aug 2026) with respect to the date of superannuation.
• Employment Status: You must be employed in a regular capacity (not contractual or ad-hoc) on the date of application and on the date of interview.

Eligible Applicant Categories

• Central Government: Officers holding a post at the level of Joint Secretary in the Government of India, or carrying equivalent scale of pay.
• Armed Forces: Officers holding a post at the level of Major General in the Army, or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.
• DPSUs/CPSEs: Officers working in a higher or equivalent pay scale (IDA pattern: Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000 post 01.01.2017, or CDA pattern: Level-14 Rs. 1,44,200-2,18,200 post 01.01.2016).
• State PSE / Private Sector: Officers working at Board level in companies with annual turnover of Rs. 500 crores or more (average audited turnover of preceding 3 financial years).

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month (Level-14, CDA)
• This is a senior executive level position equivalent to Joint Secretary rank in the Government of India.
• You will also receive DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through the following process:

1. Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC): A committee will shortlist applicants based on qualifications, experience, and suitability for the post.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The SCSC may also identify and recommend suitable candidates who may not have applied.
3. Document Verification: Your qualifications, experience, and employment records will be verified.

Note: The SCSC may relax eligibility and qualification criteria for outstanding candidates, if considered necessary.

Duration of Appointment

• The initial appointment is for a period of 3 years from the date of joining.
• The term can be extended twice for 1 year each, with the approval of the IRRPL Board.
• Maximum possible tenure: 5 years (3 + 1 + 1).
