DDP Planning Officer (Land Systems) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence has issued vacancy circular No. 18(1)/2026/PO(LS)/DP(A&C) dated 09 February 2026 for filling 1 post of Planning Officer (Land Systems) on transfer/deputation basis. The Directorate of Planning & Coordination works on defence acquisition policies, Make in India initiatives for defence equipment, and coordinates with Indian industry for land weapon systems including Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Armament Systems, Ammunition & Explosives, and combat vehicles. Who Can Apply?

This post is open to serving government officers and employees of PSUs on transfer/deputation basis. You need to meet one of these conditions:

  • All India Services officers, Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), or officers holding analogous posts in Central Civil Services Group 'A'
  • OR officers holding analogous posts in DRDO, Army, Air Force, or Navy

For service officers, you should be of the rank of Colonel (Army), Group Captain (Air Force), or Captain (Navy).

Essential Qualifications

  • Well above average overall performance record -- you should not have been permanently superseded for promotion
  • Proficient in DAP 2020 and defence capital acquisition procedures
  • Experience in appointments related to Land System Equipment -- Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs), Armament Systems, Ammunition & Explosives, combat vehicles, and specialist vehicles

Desirable Qualification

  • Qualified on DSSC/TSOC (Defence Services Staff College / Technical Staff Officers' Course)

Salary

  • Pay Band IV (6th CPC): Rs 37,400 - Rs 67,000
  • Grade Pay: Rs 8,700
  • 7th CPC Equivalent - Pay Level 13: Rs 1,23,100 - Rs 2,15,900 per month
  • Allowances: Service officers on deputation will continue to draw their pay and allowances from their respective CDAs. Civilian officers' pay will be regulated as per existing government orders on deputation

Selection Process

Since this is a deputation post, there is no written exam. Selection is based on:

Responsibilities

  • Process defence capital acquisition cases as per DAP 2020 for weapon systems and equipment of Land Systems of Indian armed forces (cases fielded in SPB/DPB/DAC/GSEPC)
  • Handle procedural frameworks governing RFI, SQR, AoN and related capital procurement stages as outlined in Defence Acquisition Procedure
  • Coordinate with Indian industry (private and public sector) to assess capability for Land Systems equipment including Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Armament Systems, Ammunition and Explosives, combat vehicles, and specialist vehicles
  • Conduct technology scans in defence Land Systems to develop a comprehensive database of products, emerging technologies, production capacities, and import dependency
  • Represent the Department of Defence Production in Project Facilitation Teams (PFTs) for Make projects in accordance with DAP provisions
  • Work closely with R&D organizations, Defence PSUs, and industry federations such as SIDM, FICCI, and CII
  • Monitor projects assigned to the division and ensure timely progress and coordination

Minimum Qualification

Serving Group A officers proficient in DAP 2020 and defence capital acquisition with Land Systems experience

Preferred Qualification

Qualified on DSSC/TSOC (Defence Services Staff College / Technical Staff Officers' Course)
