CSJMU Kanpur Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 54 Teaching Posts

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur has invited online applications for 54 regular teaching posts. CSJMU is a NAAC A++ graded state university in Uttar Pradesh, formerly known as Kanpur University. This is a re-issue of the original Advertisement No. 359 (May 2025), with new notification number CSJMU/Gen.Admin/08/01-Teaching/2026.

Total vacancies: 54 posts

• Professor: 18 posts
• Associate Professor: 13 posts
• Assistant Professor: 23 posts

These posts are in various departments including English, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Law, Education, Lifelong Learning, Business Administration and others.

Salary

Selected candidates will get salary as per UGC Pay Scales (7th CPC):

• Assistant Professor (Level 10): Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,04,100 per month
• Associate Professor (Level 13A): Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 1,98,700 per month
• Professor (Level 14): Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,17,100 per month

You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per UP State Government and UGC norms.

Who Can Apply - Qualification

All qualifications are as per UGC Regulations 2018:

• Assistant Professor: Master's degree with at least 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET or PhD
• Associate Professor: PhD + 8 years of teaching or research experience
• Professor: PhD + 10 years of teaching or research experience, including at least 3 years as Associate Professor

Age Limit

No specific age limit has been mentioned for these regular faculty posts. UP State Government norms will apply.

Selection Process

For Assistant Professor (Total 100 marks):

• Academic Score: 30 marks
• Written Test (Subject Knowledge): 40 marks
• Teaching Skills Assessment: 20 marks
• Interview: 10 marks

For Associate Professor and Professor (Total 100 marks):

• Academic Score and API: 80 marks
• Interview: 20 marks

You need at least 50% marks to get shortlisted.

3. Pay the application fee online.
4. Take a printout of your completed application.
5. Send the hard copy with all needed documents by registered post or speed post to CSJMU, Kanpur.
6. Hard copy must reach the university by 15 March 2026.
7. You need to fill a separate application and pay separate fee for each post you apply for.

Important Points

• If you have a PhD from a foreign university, you need an Equivalence Certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
• OBC candidates must have a Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued after 01 December 2024.
