About This Job

State AYUSH Mission, Tripura (SAMT) is hiring 14 contractual posts — Medical Officer (Homoeopathy), Medical Officer (Ayurveda) and Community Health Officer (Ayush). State AYUSH Mission, Tripura, under the Government of Tripura, has issued notification No. F.1(188)SAMT/AYUSH/MD/NAM/2026 for 14 contractual posts of Medical Officer (Homoeopathy), Medical Officer (Ayurveda) and Community Health Officer (Ayush). The engagement is initially for 11 months and may be extended within the project period based on performance. Only Tripura PRTC holders are eligible. Selection is purely merit and viva-voce based — there is no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

Medical Officer (Homoeopathy)

  • BHMS from an institution recognised under HCC Act 1973 / Central Council of Homoeopathy, including 1 year compulsory internship after the final degree exam
  • Valid registration with the Central or a State Council
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali / Kokborok

Medical Officer (Ayurveda)

  • BAMS or equivalent degree from a recognised Ayurvedic Medical Institution, plus 1 year compulsory internship after the final exam
  • Valid registration with the Central or a State Council
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali / Kokborok

Community Health Officer (Ayush)

  • BAMS from an institution recognised by CCIM / NCISM, OR
  • BHMS from an institution recognised by CCH / NCH

Other Requirements (for all posts)

  • You must hold a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC)
  • Only full-time courses for the essential qualifications are valid
  • In-service candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate

Age Limit

  • UR (General): Maximum 40 years as on 31 December 2025
  • SC / ST / PH: Maximum 45 years as on 31 December 2025

Salary

  • Medical Officer (Homoeopathy): Rs. 35,000 per month
  • Medical Officer (Ayurveda): Rs. 35,000 per month
  • Community Health Officer (Ayush): Rs. 25,000 per month + performance based incentive up to Rs. 15,000 per month (total up to Rs. 40,000)
  • Posting will be in any part of Tripura with 6 to 8 hours of duty per day

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a total of 100 marks:

  1. Academic Performance Index (API) — 50 marks: 15% of Madhyamik marks + 15% of Higher Secondary (+2) marks + 20% of average professional examination (BAMS/BHMS) marks
  2. Viva-voce / Personality Test — 50 marks: Walk-in interview before the Interview Board with all original documents

Date, time and venue of the walk-in interview will be published on the NHM Tripura website (tripuranrhm.gov.in/job.html). Final selection is based on merit of total marks obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide AYUSH-based out-patient and in-patient care in the assigned dispensary or health centre
  • Diagnose patients and prescribe Homoeopathic or Ayurvedic medicines as per the discipline
  • Conduct compulsory 6 to 8 hours of duty per day in any part of Tripura
  • Maintain patient records, treatment registers and daily reports
  • Support National AYUSH Mission programmes and community health drives
  • Educate patients and families about AYUSH treatment plans and preventive care
  • Coordinate with the District AYUSH unit and Mission Director's office
  • Follow Government of Tripura health protocols and reporting formats

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

BHMS (for Homoeopathy MO and CHO) or BAMS (for Ayurveda MO and CHO) from a recognised institution, with 1 year compulsory internship and valid Central/State Council registration

Preferred Qualification

Knowledge of Bengali / Kokborok

Required Skills

Patient care in AYUSH stream, valid Council registration, ability to serve in any part of Tripura
