DPH Coimbatore Multi-Post Recruitment 2026 - 152 Posts

The District Health Society (DHS), Coimbatore has opened a large hiring drive across multiple offices including the District Health Office, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Government Hospitals, Pollachi and Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation offices, Deputy Director (Family Welfare) office, and Government Primary Health Centres. All 152 posts are purely temporary and contract-based under the National Health Mission, with an initial 11-month contract that may be extended.

Who Can Apply?

Medical Officer (UHWC) - Rs. 63,000/month

• Qualification: MBBS degree from a UGC-recognised university or institution. Course must be approved by the Medical Council of India / NMC.
• Registration: You must be registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.

Health Inspector Grade-II (UHWC and MTM) - Rs. 17,500/month

• You must have passed Plus Two with Biology or Botany and Zoology.
• You must have passed Tamil language as a subject at SSLC level.
• You must have a 2-year Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) / Inspector / Sanitary Inspector Course certificate from a recognised institution or Gandhigram Rural Institute, granted by the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

Staff Nurse (UHWC) - Rs. 21,000/month

• Qualification: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) or B.Sc Nursing from an institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

ULB-UHN (Urban Health Nurse) - Rs. 17,500/month

• Qualification: Higher Secondary (12th) pass + 2-year ANM course from a DPH-approved institution.

Mid Level Health Provider (MLHP) - Rs. 21,000/month

• Qualification: Diploma in GNM or B.Sc Nursing from a Government or Government-approved private nursing college recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

Data Manager (IDSP) - Rs. 25,000/month

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Computer Science with minimum 1 year experience, or B.E. in IT / Electronics.

Programme cum Administrative Assistant - Rs. 20,000/month

• Qualification: Recognised graduate degree with fluency in MS Office.
• Experience: 1 year of office management and support of Health programme / NRHM.
• Skills: Knowledge of accountancy and drafting skills required.

Cleaner / Multipurpose Hospital Worker / Sanitary Worker / CEmONC Security Guard - Rs. 11,000/month

• Qualification: 8th Standard pass.
• Language: Must be able to read and write in Tamil.

Dental Technician (DEIC) - Rs. 17,000/month

• Qualification: Diploma in Dental Technology with 2 years post-qualification experience.

Optometrist (DEIC) - Rs. 17,500/month

• Qualification: Bachelor of Optometry.

Occupational Therapist (DEIC) - Rs. 23,000/month

• Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised university.

The maximum age varies by post:

• Medical Officer (UHWC): Less than 40 years
• Health Inspector Grade-II (UHWC): Less than 35 years
• Health Inspector Grade-II (MTM): Less than 50 years
• Staff Nurse (UHWC): Less than 50 years
• ULB-UHN: Less than 35 years
• Mid Level Health Provider: Less than 50 years
• Data Manager (IDSP): Less than 40 years
• Programme cum Administrative Assistant: Less than 45 years
• Dental Technician / Optometrist: Less than 35 years
• Occupational Therapist: Less than 40 years

Salary

• Medical Officer (UHWC): Rs. 63,000 per month
• Data Manager (IDSP): Rs. 25,000 per month
• Occupational Therapist: Rs. 23,000 per month
• Staff Nurse / Mid Level Health Provider: Rs. 21,000 per month
• Programme cum Administrative Assistant: Rs. 20,000 per month
• Health Inspector Grade-II / ULB-UHN / Optometrist: Rs. 17,500 per month
• Dental Technician (DEIC): Rs. 17,000 per month
• Cleaner / Multipurpose Hospital Worker / Sanitary Worker / CEmONC Security Guard: Rs. 11,000 per month

All posts are purely temporary and contract-based. The pay is consolidated and may not include separate DA or HRA.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on:

1. Application screening based on qualification, experience and age criteria.
2. Document verification of self-attested copies submitted with the application.
3. Interview by the District Health Society selection committee.

There is no written exam for these posts.

• Handle patient care, OPD duties and field health work in the assigned Urban Health and Wellness Centre, government hospital or primary health centre
• Conduct health screenings, immunisation, antenatal care and follow-ups for the assigned population
• Maintain proper records of patients, stock of medicines and daily reports in the prescribed format
• Assist in National Health Mission programmes such as IDSP, NRHM, DEIC and CEmONC services
• Follow standard operating procedures and infection control guidelines of the Directorate of Public Health
• Coordinate with ASHA workers, ANMs and field staff for door-to-door health surveys
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports for the District Health Office
