CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR-NBRI) is a premier research laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The institute focuses on basic and applied research in plant sciences. This recruitment is for 1 Project Associate-II position under the project titled "Genome Editing for Crop Improvement (GE-Crop)" in the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology area. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in biotechnology, life sciences, or related fields and relevant research experience should consider this opportunity.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology / Botany / Life Sciences / Biochemistry / Microbiology with 2 years of R&D experience
• OR M.Tech / Integrated M.Tech in Biotechnology / Bioinformatics

Desirable Qualification:

• Prior experience in advanced molecular biology, genome editing, plant tissue culture, or bioinformatics
• Experience in Genomics, Proteomics, and Transcriptomics will be preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in advanced molecular biology, genome editing, plant tissue culture, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years
• SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• OBC: 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years)

Salary

• (a) Rs. 35,000 per month + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET, ICAR NET, ICMR NET (including lectureship or assistant professorship), or GATE, or equivalent national-level exams conducted by Central Government departments like DBT/DST
• (b) Rs. 28,000 per month + HRA for candidates who do not fall under category (a) above
• HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the project

Selection Process

Selection will be through the following process:

1. Walk-in Interview: Candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee at the venue on the scheduled date
2. Screening Test (if required): If a large number of candidates turn up, a screening test with multiple-choice objective questions may be conducted to shortlist candidates for the interview
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of interview

Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi or English before the committee.
