CSIR-CMERI is hiring 1 Part-Time Doctor (Allopathic System) for its Centre of Excellence for Farm Machinery at Ludhiana, Punjab. If you hold an MBBS degree from a recognised university and are up to 65 years of age, you can attend the walk-in interview. The walk-in interview is on 07 May 2026 and you will be paid Rs. 1,770 per sitting of 3 hours. This is a 1-year contract role (purely temporary basis).

CSIR-CMERI Part-Time Doctor Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI), a premier research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) established in 1958, is looking for a Part-Time Doctor to run the OPD dispensary at its Centre of Excellence for Farm Machinery in Ludhiana. The doctor will provide general medical care to CSIR-CMERI employees, pensioners, family pensioners, and their dependent family members. There is no written exam — selection is through a walk-in interview only.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: MBBS degree from a recognised university or institute. You must also have valid registration with the State Medical Council.
• Desirable: At least 1 year of experience in a Government or Private Hospital will be given preference.
• Medical Fitness: You must be medically fit to perform the duties.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 65 years as on the date of walk-in interview (07 May 2026).
• No minimum age is specified.

Honorarium (Pay)

• You will be paid Rs. 1,770 per sitting (each sitting is 3 hours per day).
• Duty is 3 hours per day, 3 days per week (excluding Sundays and Gazetted holidays) during timings set by the Institute.
• Payment is attendance-based. If you are absent beyond the entitled 12 days leave per year, the honorarium will be reduced on a pro-rata basis.
• You get 12 days leave in a calendar year, calculated on a pro-rata basis. No regular leave is allowed beyond this.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview or for joining if selected.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on walk-in interview and document verification:

1. Document Verification: Report at 10:00 AM on 07 May 2026 with all original certificates. Without original certificates, you will not be allowed to appear.
2. Walk-in Interview: Interview starts at 11:30 AM on 07 May 2026 at CSIR-CMERI-CoEFM, Ludhiana. Preference will be given to candidates with desirable experience.

Bring: filled-in application form (attached to notification), photocopies of certificates, all original certificates, and 2 passport-size colour photographs.

5. Attend the walk-in interview at 11:30 AM on 07 May 2026 at the same venue.

• Refer patients with serious conditions to empanelled hospitals with or without credit facility as required
• Follow up on patients with chronic diseases and monitor their health over time
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient data, records, and medical information
• Hand over all patient records to the office before the expiry of the contract
• Perform duties of a general Medical Officer regardless of any specialisation
