IHMCL Systems Engineer Recruitment 2026 — 30 Vacancies

IHMCL is hiring 30 Systems Engineers (ITS) on a direct recruitment basis for its Delhi head office. Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) Systems Engineer (ITS) Recruitment 2026 - 30 Posts

Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), an initiative of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has released a notification for 30 Systems Engineer (ITS) posts. IHMCL was set up under the Companies Act, 1956, jointly promoted by NHAI along with highway concessionaires and financial institutions, to run the Electronic Toll Collection (FASTag) system and Intelligent Transport Systems across India's national highways. This job puts you at the center of highway technology and traffic management for the whole country. There is no separate written exam — selection is based entirely on your GATE score, which makes this a great opportunity if you already have a good GATE result. Out of the 30 posts, 14 are for UR, 8 for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 4 for SC, 1 for ST and 3 for EWS candidates, and one post is reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a combination of these branches from a recognized university or institute.
• GATE Score: You must have a valid GATE 2025 score in Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electronics and Communications Engineering (EC), or Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA).
• Final-year students can also apply, but you must submit your degree certificate or a provisional certificate from your university by 31 August 2026, or your candidature will be cancelled.
• Just having the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for interview — IHMCL decides the shortlisting cutoff based on GATE score and category.

Reservation Certificate Requirements

• OBC (NCL) candidates must submit an OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued during 2026-2027, clearly stating you do not belong to the creamy layer.
• EWS candidates need an Income & Asset Certificate for Financial Year 2025-26, issued on or after 1 April 2026.
• If you don't submit a valid caste/category certificate along with your application, you will be considered under the UR (Unreserved) category instead, provided you meet the UR eligibility conditions.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 30 years old as on 2 August 2026 (the last date for online applications).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years, and Central Government employees with 3 years of continuous service in an allied cadre get 5 years.
• J&K Domicile (1980-1989): 5 years relaxation.
• PwBD candidates get 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC) or 15 years (SC/ST) relaxation.
• Ex-servicemen can deduct their military service period plus 3 years from their actual age, subject to government rules.
• If you qualify for more than one age relaxation, only the highest one will be granted, not all of them together.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a starting basic pay of Rs. 50,000 per month, going up to Rs. 1,60,000 under the E-2 IDA Grade pay pattern.
• Your total indicative monthly salary will be around Rs. 1,00,000, which includes Dearness Allowance, Cafeteria Allowance and House Rent Allowance (for X Class Cities).
• This amount excludes statutory deductions such as EPF contribution and Income Tax.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. GATE Score Merit: You are shortlisted based on your valid GATE 2025 score in the relevant discipline (CS/EC/DA). IHMCL decides the cutoff score separately for each category.
2. Interview: IHMCL may call shortlisted candidates for an interview based on the number of applications received.

If two candidates in the same category have the same GATE score, the older candidate is placed higher in the final merit list.
