CSIR-IIIM Project Advertisement No. 15/2026 - Project Associate-II

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, an autonomous institute under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, has released Project Advertisement No. 15/2026 for 1 Project Associate-II post. This position is tied to the CSIR-funded project "Discovery and In-Vivo Validation of New Trans-Crocetin Analogs as Oxygen Diffusion Enhancers to delay the onset of Brain Aging and Prevention/Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease." In simple terms, the project studies whether Trans-Crocetin compounds can improve oxygen supply to brain cells and slow down brain aging, which could open up new treatment approaches for Alzheimer's disease.

The role is purely temporary and tenable only at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, with an initial engagement of one year or the project duration, whichever ends first — the current project runs for up to two years, and your total tenure across all CSIR labs cannot exceed six years. Your offer of engagement will be issued only after CSIR-IIIM receives the project funds, and this position does not entitle you to any right of absorption into a permanent CSIR post.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences, or M.S./M.Pharm in Pharmacology, from a recognised university/institute or equivalent.
• Experience: You need 2 years of research experience along with your qualifying degree.
• Preferred: Research experience in cell culture and basic cell biology techniques, plus experience handling and dosing small laboratory animals (mice and rats), will be preferred.
• Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR-NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or a national-level exam conducted by DBT/DST or similar Government of India bodies, fall into a higher stipend category.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 35 years, reckoned as on the date of the interview.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a stipend of Rs. 35,000 per month plus HRA if you have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR-NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or a national-level exam conducted by DBT/DST or a similar Government of India body.
• If you do not fall in the above category, you will get Rs. 28,000 per month plus HRA.
• HRA is paid only if institutional accommodation is not availed of or provided.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

CSIR-IIIM will select candidates through a single stage:

1. Interview: Conducted online through MS Teams. If a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may revise the screening criteria before shortlisting.

After selection, your original documents — educational qualifications, date of birth, caste certificate, and age relaxation certificate — will be verified; any discrepancy will cancel your selection. Keep in mind that the number of positions may vary depending on project requirements at the time of interview, and the Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right to not fill any or all of the advertised positions. Any form of canvassing will lead to disqualification.
