Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification for 2 Senior Consultant posts — one for Civil Engineering and one for Projects — to support its infrastructure and construction activities at the Lucknow campus. The selected candidates may also be required to work at IIML's Noida Campus, depending on the Institute's needs. These are contract positions aimed at experienced, retired government or PSU engineers who can hit the ground running on institutional building projects. Who Can Apply?

Senior Consultant (Civil Engineer):

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in planning, execution, supervision, maintenance, and project management of civil construction works in Central/State Government, PSUs, Government Autonomous Bodies, or large private organizations. You should have worked at the level of Executive Engineer/Superintending Engineer or equivalent (Pay Level 11/12 or above) at the time of retirement.
• Preferred: A professional certificate and hands-on proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS-Project, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, which is used for 3D planning and coordination of large construction projects. Experience with institutional, residential, academic, infrastructure, and maintenance projects is a plus, along with sound knowledge of CPWD/PWD norms, contract management, tendering procedures, and relevant statutory regulations.

Senior Consultant (Projects):

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
• Experience: Same 20-year experience requirement as above, at Executive Engineer/Superintending Engineer level or equivalent.
• Preferred: Strong project management and coordination skills, knowledge of government procurement and contract procedures, proficiency in Primavera P6, MS-Project, and BIM software along with project documentation, and the ability to work independently and provide practical solutions to project-related issues.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 60 years, calculated as on the closing date of application (29 July 2026).

Salary

• You will get a monthly consolidated pay of Rs. 1,80,000 (all inclusive) for both posts — this is a fixed, all-in figure with no separate allowances.

Since this is a consolidated pay for retired professionals rather than a regular pay scale, there is no separate DA, HRA, or grade pay component — the entire amount is paid as a single monthly sum.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Interview: Conducted online, offline, or in multiple phases as deemed appropriate by the Institute. There is no written exam for this post. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call — IIML can restrict the number of shortlisted candidates based on higher qualifications or more relevant experience.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring all original certificates, degrees, and experience documents, along with one set of photocopies, for verification at the time of the final selection process.

The contract is initially for 1 year, extendable year-to-year based on your performance and the Institute's requirement, up to a maximum of 5 years or until you turn 65 years, whichever comes first. This is a purely contractual engagement — you will not have any right to claim regularization or absorption into the Institute. A panel of shortlisted, waitlisted candidates will remain valid for one year, and IIML may use it to make further appointments within that period.
