ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme), Station HQ Cell, Jalandhar Cantt is hiring 28 medical, para-medical and support staff on a contract basis for its polyclinics in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. If you are a doctor, dental specialist, lab technician, pharmacist, nurse or support worker with the required experience, you can apply by post. Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Jalandhar Recruitment 2026 - 28 Posts

The Government of India, Ministry of Defence runs the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) to provide medical care to ex-servicemen and their dependents. Station HQ (ECHS Cell), Jalandhar Cantt has invited applications to fill 28 posts for ECHS Polyclinics at Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Suranassi, Nawanshahr, Garhshankar, Una and Gagret. The engagement is for one year for ex-servicemen and 11 months for civilians, renewable based on performance. Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.

Who Can Apply?

Doctors and Specialists:

• Medical Officer: MBBS with minimum 3 years work experience.
• Medical Specialist: MD/MS in the concerned specialty or DNB, with minimum 5 years experience after PG.
• Gynecologist: MD/MS in the concerned specialty or DNB, with minimum 5 years experience after PG.
• Dental Officer: MDS/BDS with minimum 3 years work experience.
• OIC Polyclinic: Graduate with minimum 5 years experience in a health care institution or managerial position (ESM only).

Para-Medical Staff:

• Lab Technician: B.Sc (Medical Lab Tech) or 10+2 with science and DMLT, with minimum 3 years experience.
• Pharmacist: Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution and registration under the Pharmacy Act 1948, with minimum 3 years experience.
• Nursing Assistant: GNM Diploma or Class-I Nursing Assistant Course (Armed Forces), with minimum 5 years experience.
• Radiographer: Diploma or Class-I Radiographer course (Armed Forces), with minimum 5 years experience.
• Dental Hygienist / Dental Technician: Diploma or Class-1 DH/DORA course (Armed Forces), with minimum 5 years experience.

Support Staff:

• Female Attendant / Safaiwala: Literate with minimum 5 years experience in a civil or army health institution.

Preference is given to Ex-Servicemen (ESM). Some posts such as OIC Polyclinic are reserved for ESM candidates only.

Salary

• Medical Specialist / Gynecologist: Rs. 1,30,000 per month.
• OIC Polyclinic / Medical Officer / Dental Officer: Rs. 95,000 per month.
• Lab Technician / Pharmacist / Nursing Assistant / Radiographer / Dental Hygienist / Dental Technician: Rs. 36,500 per month.
• Female Attendant / Safaiwala: Rs. 21,800 per month.
• The pay is a fixed monthly amount. No TA/DA is admissible.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Test and Interview: Both will be held at Station HQ (ECHS Cell) Jalandhar Cantt. The date and time will be informed to candidates by email or telephone.
2. Document Verification: Original certificates must be produced at the time of interview. Only applications meeting the qualitative requirement are considered.
3. On-Job Training (OJT): Selected candidates must complete 10 days of unpaid On-Job Training and get a certificate from the OIC Polyclinic before signing the contract.

No TA/DA is admissible for the written test or interview.

3. Attach 2 self-attested copies of all required certificates and 2 passport size colour photographs.
4. Send the completed application by post to OIC, Stn HQ (ECHS Cell), Jalandhar Cantt, Punjab - 144005.
5. Make sure the application reaches by 26 July 2026. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.

• Follow ECHS rules, medical protocols and hygiene standards.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the polyclinic.
