Scientific Analysis Group (SAG) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. SAG 007 for 11 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions. SAG is a leading DRDO laboratory that works on cryptology and information security. Ten positions will be filled at SAG itself, and one position for a DRDO Sister Laboratory, spread across four disciplines — Mathematics, Computer Science/IT, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Physics. Selected candidates will initially work for a two-year fellowship focused on research in cryptology.

Who Can Apply?

For Mathematics (3 posts):

• Post Graduate degree in Mathematics in First Division with NET qualified
• Desirable: Knowledge of Cryptology and Computer Programming in C/C++

For Computer Science/IT/CS (4 posts):

• B.E./B.Tech in CSE/IT/CS with First Division and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech in the relevant field with First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate level
• Desirable: Knowledge of basic Cryptology and programming in C/C++, Java, Python

For Electronics Engineering (EE/ECE) (3 posts):

• B.E./B.Tech in EE/ECE with First Division and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech in the relevant field with First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate level
• Desirable: Knowledge of Embedded Systems and Cryptology

For Physics (1 post):

• Post Graduate degree in Physics in First Division with NET qualified
• Desirable: Knowledge of Quantum Physics and Computer Programming in C/C++

Only Indian nationals who have completed the course and been awarded a degree or provisional certificate are eligible to appear.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for all fellowships is 28 years as on the date of the walk-in interview.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates.

Salary

• You will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000 plus HRA, medical facilities and other benefits as per prevailing rules.
• The fellowship is initially for two years and can be extended up to a maximum of five years based on performance.
• You may register for a Ph.D at a University/Institution during your fellowship tenure. This offer does not entitle you to absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 5 August 2026 at the Main Gate reception, Metcalfe House, Delhi-110054. Reporting time is 0900 to 1100 hrs.
2. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates and self-attested copies at the time of the interview.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining after selection. If selected, you will need to join SAG or the Sister Laboratory within two weeks of receiving your offer letter.

• You are not allowed to bring a pen drive, laptop, electronic device or camera to the interview venue.
• The offer of fellowship does not confer any right to absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.
