Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), a defence public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has released a notification for 5 Specialist posts at its Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) unit in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. GCF needs domain experts to work on specific jobs, projects and programmes requiring specialised knowledge in metallurgy, hydraulics & pneumatics, electronics, finite element analysis (FEA), and control systems. The engagement is initially for one year and can be extended yearly up to a maximum of four years based on factory requirement and your performance. Who Can Apply?

Specialist-I (Metallurgical Engineering) - Rs. 1,75,000/month:

• B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field (M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Advanced Materials, Nanomaterials, Polymers or Composites is preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
• Key skills: metallurgical process design & optimisation, materials selection & failure analysis, composites/polymers/nanomaterials, heat treatment & metallurgical testing, phase diagrams & thermodynamics

Specialist-I (Hydraulics & Pneumatic Systems) - Rs. 1,75,000/month:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Mechatronics (M.E./M.Tech preferred)
• Minimum 10 years in hydraulic & pneumatic system design, testing and troubleshooting
• Key skills: hydraulic & pneumatic circuit design, pump/valve/actuator/accumulator selection, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), system testing, commissioning & fault diagnosis

Specialist-II (Electronics Engineering) - Rs. 1,25,000/month:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Instrumentation (M.E./M.Tech preferred)
• Minimum 5 years in industrial or embedded electronics
• Key skills: analog & digital circuit design, power electronics (SMPS, converters, inverters), sensor interfacing, PCB schematic design, EMI/EMC testing

Specialist-II (FEA - Finite Element Analysis) - Rs. 1,25,000/month:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace (M.E./M.Tech with specialisation in Design/Structural Analysis preferred)
• Minimum 5 years in structural and thermal analysis
• Key skills: linear & nonlinear structural analysis, static/dynamic/fatigue/thermal analysis, ANSYS/SimCentre and NX or equivalent design software

Specialist-I (Control Systems) - Rs. 1,75,000/month:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Control or Mechatronics (M.E./M.Tech in Control Systems preferred)
• Minimum 10 years in control system design and implementation
• Key skills: classical & modern control theory, PLC/DCS programming & SCADA systems, MATLAB and Simulink

Age Limit

• You should not exceed 52 years of age as on the last date of receipt of the online application, for all 5 Specialist posts.

Salary

• Specialist-I posts (Metallurgical Engineering, Hydraulics & Pneumatic Systems, Control Systems): Monthly consolidated salary of Rs. 1,75,000.
• Specialist-II posts (Electronics Engineering, FEA): Monthly consolidated salary of Rs. 1,25,000.

• SC, ST and Female candidates: No fee (exempted)

Selection Process

Your selection will be done through:

1. Technical Evaluation (Written/Practical Test): Assesses your domain knowledge and applied skills for the specific specialisation.
2. Interview/Expert Panel Assessment: A panel of experts evaluates your technical depth and suitability for the role.
3. Document Verification: Includes verification of your character and antecedents as per AWEIL policy.
4. Medical Examination: You must submit a medical fitness certificate before joining.

Contract Terms: The engagement is initially for one year and can be renewed yearly up to a maximum of four years from your date of joining, based on factory requirement and your performance. Either you or GCF can end the engagement by giving one months notice, or by paying one months salary in lieu of notice. You will generally be engaged only in core technical areas like design, manufacturing, maintenance, quality control or production engineering, and the appointment is purely contractual with no right to regularisation or absorption. GCF also reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies at any stage of the selection process, so keep checking the online application portal and official websites for any corrigendum.
