Gun Carriage Factory, Jabalpur — a unit of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) under the Ministry of Defence — has released a notification for 2 Examiner (RG & MPI) - Skilled posts as part of its Experienced Tradesman hiring drive. This is a quality assurance and inspection role that checks large calibre gun components using Radiography and Magnetic Particle Inspection techniques to ensure operational safety and compliance with inspection standards before guns and ammunition are cleared for use. You need at least 2 years of relevant industry experience along with your NDT certification to qualify for this post.

The engagement is initially for one year and may be extended based on factory requirement and your performance. Your basic pay increases by 3% annually on satisfactory performance, reviewed on a half-yearly basis. If your performance is found unsatisfactory, you get 3 months to improve before any further review, and services may be terminated with 15 days' notice if performance still does not improve. Either side can end the contract with one month's notice or payment in lieu, and you must be able to give measurable work output within 10 days of joining. Your engagement will be governed by the Official Secrets Act, 1923 given the sensitive nature of defence manufacturing work, and this contract-based hiring will not be treated as re-employment. TDS will be deducted from your monthly remuneration as applicable, and a TDS certificate will be issued to you on request.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Matriculation with NTC/NAC, or an Engineering Diploma/Degree in a relevant trade from a recognised institute, affiliated to any Government or Private organisation with Government recognition.
• Certification: Level-II certification in RG (Radiography) and MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) by ASNT, ISNT or BARC is mandatory.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience, supported by an experience certificate from your employer, describing the machines you worked on and jobs manufactured.
• You should be ready to describe your programming knowledge and tool-selection experience gained in previous roles, where applicable.
• Submitting false, incorrect or incomplete information, or bogus documents, will disqualify your candidature at any stage.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on the last date of application, under the General category.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get 3 years of relaxation where the post is reserved for that category. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation equal to their military service period plus 3 years.
• PwBD: Persons with disabilities get an additional 10 years of relaxation within their respective category.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 31,840 (basic pay Rs. 19,900 plus Dearness Allowance at 60%).
• An annual increase of 3% on your basic pay is given during the contract, subject to satisfactory performance reviewed every six months.
• No additional allowances like HRA are paid over this consolidated amount, and deductions apply proportionately for unauthorised leave or absence from duty.
