University of Calicut (UoC) CUIET Contract Recruitment 2026 - 21 Posts

The University of Calicut has released Notification No. 195279/DUSC-J-ASST-3/2024/Admn for 21 contract posts at the Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology, covering both teaching and non-teaching roles across ECE, Mechanical, EEE, CSE/EP, PT and Science & Humanities departments. All appointments are for a period of one year on contract basis, and preference is given to experienced candidates. Candidates without a Ph.D. will still be considered for Assistant Professor posts in the absence of Ph.D. holders, making this accessible to fresh M.Tech and NET-qualified graduates too.

Who Can Apply?

Assistant Professor - Engineering Departments (ECE, ME, EEE, CSE/EP, PT):

• You need an ME/M.Tech with BE/B.Tech in the relevant subject (First Class at least in ME/M.Tech or BE/B.Tech) of University of Calicut or equivalent, with not less than 55% marks + Ph.D.
• In the absence of Ph.D. holders, candidates without a Ph.D. will also be considered.
• Desirable: 2 years of teaching, research or industry experience.

Assistant Professor - Science & Humanities (Physics, Mathematics, Economics):

• You need a Master's degree in the relevant subject of University of Calicut or equivalent, plus NET + Ph.D.
• In the absence of Ph.D. holders, candidates without a Ph.D. will also be considered.
• Desirable: 1 year of teaching experience.

Assistant Professor in Physical Education:

• You need a Post-Graduation in Physical Education (M.P.Ed), must be NET Qualified, with 2 years' experience in Physical Education.
• Note: The candidate selected for this post will also hold charge as warden of the IET hostel.

Instructor (EEE):

• You need a Diploma (3-year) plus 2 years' experience.

Office Assistant:

• You need a Degree along with DTP/Computer Proficiency.

Age Limit

• Assistant Professor posts (all departments): Maximum age is 64 years.
• Instructor and Office Assistant posts: Maximum age is 59 years.

Salary

• Assistant Professor with M.Tech & Ph.D. (Engineering depts): Rs. 26,000 + additional pay of Rs. 10,000 = Rs. 36,000 per month.
• Assistant Professor with M.Tech only (Engineering depts): Rs. 24,000 + additional pay of Rs. 7,000 = Rs. 31,000 per month.
• Assistant Professor with Ph.D. & NET (S&H): Rs. 26,000 + additional pay of Rs. 10,000 = Rs. 36,000 per month.
• Assistant Professor with NET only (S&H): Rs. 25,000 + additional pay of Rs. 9,000 = Rs. 34,000 per month.
• Assistant Professor - Physical Education (with Ph.D. & NET): Rs. 26,000 + additional pay of Rs. 9,000 = Rs. 35,000 per month; with NET only: Rs. 25,000 + additional pay of Rs. 9,000 = Rs. 34,000 per month.
• Instructor (EEE): Rs. 20,500 + additional pay of Rs. 3,000 = Rs. 23,500 per month.
• Office Assistant: Rs. 21,500 + additional pay of Rs. 3,000 = Rs. 24,500 per month.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on the details furnished in the online application form.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are informed by email, phone or ordinary mail.
3. Document/Certificate Verification: Original qualifying degree and experience certificates must be produced at this stage. Candidates who passed their qualifying exam from another university must also produce an equivalency certificate.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
