RGCB Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Thiruvananthapuram is hiring a Research Associate-I for a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) project titled "Human Brain Organoids in space as a transformative model to understand Neurodegeneration". You will work in the laboratory of Dr. Karthika Rajeeve, Scientist E-I, on a study that uses lab-grown brain organoids to look at how neurodegeneration develops. This is a project position, not a permanent RGCB job. It suits a Ph.D. holder in Biotechnology who already has hands-on cell culture work and wants a postdoctoral-level role in neuroscience research.

The lab's work centres on 3D culture and organoid biology, human cell culture and disease-relevant in vitro models. Exposure to stem cell or iPSC-based models, bioengineering and advanced imaging gives you an edge, as does at least one first-author peer-reviewed paper.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: Initially two years, or until the project ends, whichever is earlier.
  • No future claim: Selection does not entitle you to any later position at RGCB, permanent or otherwise; the post is co-terminus with the project.
  • Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
  • Government employees: If you work in a government organisation, send your application through proper channel.
  • Several RGCB posts? Submit a separate application for each position.
  • Format: Applications not in the prescribed format are rejected outright.

Application Submission Notes

Apply through the Apply Online link on RGCB's temporary positions page for Adv. 20/2026. RGCB shortlists applicants on eligibility, and the selection interview is held online. The final choice rests on your qualifications and your performance in that interview.
