BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar — an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India — has released Advertisement No. 27/2026 for 2 Laboratory Technician posts under the project titled "Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance." One post needs IT skills (PHP/Laravel) while the other is a general lab technician role working directly on marine samples. Both positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project, running up to 31 March 2027 or until the project ends, whichever is earlier, based on your annual performance appraisal. Only Indian Nationals can apply for these posts.

Who Can Apply?

For Laboratory Technician (IT):

• You need a B.Sc or 3-year Diploma in Science, Engineering or Technology.
• Desirable: At least 1 year hands-on experience with PHP and the Laravel Framework, familiarity with Linux server environments and deployment, and good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

For Laboratory Technician:

• You need a B.Sc or 3-year Diploma in Science, Engineering or Technology.
• Desirable: At least 1 year of work experience in a biological or chemical laboratory.

• Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for these posts.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 50 years old (upper age limit) for both posts.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get Rs. 20,000 per month plus 18% House Rent Allowance (around Rs. 23,600 total) for both posts.
• This is a consolidated, project-funded salary and continues as long as the project runs.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on shortlisting followed by an interview:
