WAPCOS Field Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

WAPCOS Limited, a Mini Ratna-I Government of India Undertaking, is engaging Field Engineers on a project-term basis for its power consultancy work. The engineers will support consultancy on 400 kV and 765 kV transmission line and substation projects in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Odisha.

This is a contract engagement tied to project needs, not a regular PSU job. It suits electrical or civil engineers and diploma holders who already supervise construction on extra-high-voltage (EHV) sites — the notice fixes no number of posts; WAPCOS will decide how many people to engage based on its project requirements.

Posts and Disciplines

• Field Engineer (Substation): a site role on EHV substation projects, open to degree or diploma holders in Electrical or Civil Engineering whose experience comes from substation construction.
• Field Engineer (Transmission Line): a site role on EHV transmission line projects, with the same degree or diploma options, but your experience must come from transmission line construction.

Post-wise Duties

Field Engineer (Substation)

You will supervise and monitor construction at EHV substations (66 kV and above) on the projects WAPCOS is advising, keeping a close eye on how the site work is carried out.

Field Engineer (Transmission Line)

You will supervise and monitor the construction of EHV transmission lines on the 400 kV and 765 kV corridors covered by WAPCOS's consultancy assignments.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Pay is negotiated: The notice gives no fixed salary. Pay is matched to your qualification and experience and discussed when you are engaged.
• Temporary engagement: The posts are purely temporary and exist only for WAPCOS project requirements.
• Place of posting: Your posting is finalised at engagement, and you can be posted anywhere in India or abroad as the company's work demands.
• Variable posts: The number of posts is not fixed and depends on the company's project needs.
• Serving employees: If you work in a government department, PSU or autonomous body, you must produce a No Objection or relieving certificate at joining.
• Original certificates: Bring originals with your CV at joining for verification. WAPCOS is not responsible for returning any copies or testimonials sent with the application.
• Shortlisting: Management can set extra criteria to limit the number of candidates called.
