CPCL PM Internship Scheme Recruitment 2026: Overview

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), a Navratna refining company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is taking in interns through the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS). Each selected intern gets nine months of hands-on training in one of twelve streams, ranging from chemical and fire engineering to HR, finance and marketing. This is a training stint, not a job — CPCL has no duty to absorb or regularise anyone once the internship ends.

Posts and Disciplines

• Engineering graduate internships: Chemical (PMIS-2026-74467), Mechanical (PMIS-2026-74457), Electrical (PMIS-2026-74462), IT (PMIS-2026-74527), Fire Engineering (PMIS-2026-74480) and Instrumentation (PMIS-2026-87713). These give fresh engineers a first look at how a working refinery runs.
• Diploma Intern Chemical (PMIS-2026-74520): the one stream set aside for chemical diploma holders.
• Office Assistant Intern (PMIS-2026-74449): the most open stream — any three-year degree programme counts.
• Human Resource Intern (PMIS-2026-74231): meant for social work postgraduates with an HR specialisation.
• Finance Intern (PMIS-2026-74243): a commerce-side opening in the company's finance function.
• Marketing Intern (PMIS-2026-74516): for management graduates who majored in marketing.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Institutes excluded: Graduates and postgraduates of IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, IIITs and IISc cannot apply.
• Higher qualifications excluded: You are out if you hold CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MBA (or an equivalent), MPhil or PhD.
• No overlapping training: You cannot be in any Central or State Government skill, apprenticeship, internship or training programme right now, and you must never have finished an apprenticeship under NATS or NAPS.
• Family income cap: If you, a parent or your spouse earned more than Rs 12 lakh in the previous financial year, you are not eligible.
• Government employee in the family: A parent, spouse or you being a permanent or regular government employee rules you out.
• No travel, food or stay: CPCL pays no travel expenses for certificate checks or during the internship, and it does not provide boarding or lodging.
• Medical fitness and documents: Engagement happens only after your certificates are verified and you clear the medical fitness requirement. Anyone claiming an equivalent qualification must show an equivalency certificate.
• Numbers can change: The listed opportunities are indicative and may shift with training capacity; CPCL can also cancel or alter the process.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute falls under the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Shortlisting, offers and joining details come through the portal or your registered email — CPCL sends nothing by post.
