All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Deoghar (AIIMS Deoghar), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has invited offline applications for 142 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) posts through a rolling advertisement. This is a great opportunity for doctors who have completed their post-graduation to work at one of India's premier medical institutions. The appointment is initially for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years as per the Residency Scheme 1992. Vacancies are spread across 39 clinical and para-clinical departments including General Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Radio Diagnosis.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a Post Graduate Degree — MD/MS/DNB/MDS — from a recognized University or Institute.
  • For Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank: You need MD (Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank) or DNB (Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank).
  • Registration: You must have MCI/State Medical Council registration for UG and PG degrees.
  • For Foreign Graduates: You need an FMGE certificate conducted by NBE.
  • Applicants holding DNB in broad specialties as their essential qualifying education must provide documentary evidence of its equivalence with MD/MS.
  • Senior Residency Experience: Candidates who have completed 3 years of Senior Residency will not be considered for the post.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 45 years (as on the day of interview).
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation.
  • OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation.
  • Orthopedic/Physically Handicapped (OPH) candidates: UR — 5 years, OBC — 8 years, SC/ST — 10 years relaxation.

Salary

  • You will be placed in Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an entry pay of Rs. 67,700 per month.
  • You will also get NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) and other usual allowances as per Central Government rules.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for appearing at the interview.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through:

  1. Interview / Written Test: You will be called for an interview or written test examination at AIIMS Deoghar. The dates will be notified on the AIIMS Deoghar website.
  2. Document Verification: You need to bring original documents and self-attested photocopies at the time of interview.
  3. Medical Examination: PwD candidates must produce a physically handicapped certificate (with degree of disability) in original issued by the Competent Authority at the time of interview.

Note: Vacancies in posts may increase or decrease at the time of selection at the discretion of the Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Deoghar.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients in the assigned department under guidance of faculty
  • Assist senior faculty during ward rounds, surgeries, and outpatient clinics
  • Handle emergency cases and provide on-call coverage as per duty roster
  • Maintain detailed patient records, case histories, and discharge summaries
  • Participate in academic activities including case presentations, seminars, and journal clubs
  • Work in shifts including night duties and weekend rotations as required
  • Follow hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and patient safety standards
