North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow and 1 Research Associate position under a Government of India funded research project titled "Production of soybean based functional foods using microbial resources isolated from traditionally fermented foods of North East India". NEHU is a Central University established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament and is one of the leading universities in the North East region. The project is based in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, with Prof. S.R. Joshi as the Principal Investigator. The research work focuses on isolating microbial resources from traditionally fermented foods of North East India and using them to develop soybean-based functional foods, an area that combines applied microbiology with the region's food heritage.
