Tezpur University, a Central University in Assam established by an Act of Parliament, has issued a walk-in interview notice through its Office of the Dean, Research & Development, to fill 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position for the project "Design and synthesis of a Responsive Multi-Block Copolymer binder for paint application" in the Department of Applied Sciences. The position is purely contractual and time-bound, running up to 30 November 2026 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Selection is based directly on a walk-in interview — there is no separate written exam conducted for this specific post.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.S. (4-year programme) / B.Pharm. / M.B.B.S. / Integrated B.S.-M.S. / M.Sc. / B.E. / B.Tech. or an equivalent degree with 55% marks.
• Additional requirement: You must have cleared NET-LS or GATE, as per CSIR guidelines for Research Fellowships (see the CSIR-HRDG website for full eligibility norms).
• Selection basis: The NET-LS/GATE qualification itself is awarded through a competitive written test organised jointly by CSIR and UGC at the national level.
• If you are currently employed or pursuing a Ph.D., you must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer or Ph.D. supervisor.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 28 years old as on the date of interview (12 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month as JRF emoluments.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection for this post is done through:

1. Document Verification: Bring your original and self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, certificates from 10th standard onwards, NET-LS/GATE certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and experience certificate (if any) for verification by the Selection Committee.
2. Walk-in Interview: Eligible candidates are interviewed directly on the spot.

• Carry out experimental and analytical work for the sponsored research project
