LGBRIMH Senior Resident Multi-Dept Recruitment 2026: Overview

Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is engaging Senior Resident Doctors at its Tezpur campus through a hybrid walk-in process. The opportunity covers clinical and laboratory specialties that support the institute's mental-health services, teaching work and diagnostic units. The engagement begins for one year and can be renewed within the overall senior-residency tenure, so your continuation depends on satisfactory work and conduct.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Psychiatry: This is the main clinical stream, where your work centres on assessment, treatment planning and supervised care for people using the institute's mental-health services.
  • Biochemistry: This laboratory stream supports clinical decisions through biochemical testing, quality checks and clear reporting of results.
  • Microbiology: This stream deals with clinical specimens, infection-related investigations and laboratory practices that protect both patients and staff.
  • Pathology: This diagnostic stream supports examination of specimens and dependable reporting for the institute's clinical teams.

Post-wise Duties

Psychiatry Senior Resident

You will assess patients, discuss treatment plans with senior faculty and keep clear clinical records. Your work may include ward care, outpatient consultations, emergency support and teaching-related clinical discussions.

Biochemistry Senior Resident

You will review laboratory investigations, help maintain quality-control practices and explain relevant findings to clinical teams. You may also support residents and trainees in understanding the diagnostic use of biochemical tests.

Microbiology Senior Resident

You will examine clinical samples, support organism identification and contribute to infection-control work. Careful documentation and safe laboratory practice are central to this role.

Pathology Senior Resident

You will help examine and interpret specimens, prepare accurate diagnostic reports and discuss findings with treating teams. The work also calls for orderly records and proper handling of laboratory material.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The first appointment is for one year and may be renewed, subject to your work and conduct, up to the permitted three-year senior-residency period after counting earlier service in government institutions.
  • Registration: You must hold valid registration with the National Medical Commission or a recognised State Medical Council.
  • DNB documents: If your postgraduate qualification is DNB, you must bring the applicable verification certificate issued by the National Board of Examinations.
  • Current employment: If you work for a government body, public-sector undertaking or autonomous institution, bring a no-objection certificate from the competent authority.
  • Training: Selected doctors must attend institute training in Basic Life Support and biomedical-waste management.
  • Travel and stay: The institute will not pay travel allowance for the interview; accommodation is subject to availability.
  • Vacancy position: The notified openings are provisional and the institute may revise them at the interview or selection stage.
