The Sashastra Seema Bal, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released two combined advertisements (524/RC/SSB/Combined-Advt./CT_to_SI(Non-GD)/2025) covering Sub Inspector and Assistant Sub Inspector posts in Non-General Duty cadres. This is a regular Group-B (Non-Gazetted) recruitment with all-India service liability and a starting basic of Rs. 35,400 per month for SIs.

• Sub Inspector (Pioneer): 21 posts
• Sub Inspector (Communication): 20 posts
• ASI (Radiographer / Pharmacist / OT Technician / Dental Technician): 7 posts

A 10% reservation applies for Ex-Servicemen across SI categories.

Who Can Apply?

Sub Inspector (Staff Nurse)

• 12th pass with Science from a recognised board
• 3 or 3.5-year Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery
• Must be registered with the Central or State Nursing Council

Sub Inspector (Pioneer)

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute

Sub Inspector (Communication)

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, IT Engineering, OR
• A Science degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

ASI (Radiographer)

• 12th with Science + 2-year Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiography
• Minimum 1 year of experience

ASI (Pharmacist)

• 12th with Science + 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy
• Registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948
• Minimum 1 year experience in a 100-bed hospital

ASI (OT Technician)

• 12th + Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology
• Relevant hospital experience as OT Technician/Assistant

ASI (Dental Technician)

• 12th with Science + Diploma or Certificate in Dental Technician / Mechanic course
• Experience in a dental lab or department of a recognised hospital

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 30 years for SI posts, 27 years for ASI posts
• Standard age relaxation applies — 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and additional relaxation for Ex-Servicemen, Departmental candidates, and Government servants per central rules
• Age is calculated as on the closing date — 04 May 2026

Salary

• Sub Inspector: Pay Level-6, Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month
• ASI (Paramedical): Pay Level-5, Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month
• Plus Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Risk & Hardship Allowance, and free uniform/ration as per CAPF rules
• Pension under NPS, leave, medical cover, and quarter accommodation included

Physical Standards

Male Candidates

• Height: 170 cm (relaxation for ST and certain hill-area candidates)
• Chest: 80 cm unexpanded, 85 cm expanded

Female Candidates

• Height: 157 cm (relaxation for ST and certain hill-area candidates)
• Chest measurement not applicable

You'll also need to clear medical and PET/PST standards as per the official notification.

Selection Process

1. Physical Standards Test (PST): Height, chest, and weight measurement
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Race, long jump, high jump (qualifying)
3. Documentation Check with originals
4. Written Examination (CBT/OMR): Objective questions on General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English/Hindi, and a trade/discipline-specific paper
5. Skill / Trade Test for technical posts (Pharmacist, Radiographer, OT, Dental, Communication)
6. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination if needed

• Provide nursing, paramedical, or technical support at SSB hospitals, dispensaries, and field locations
• Operate radiography, OT, dental, or pharmacy equipment as per your trade and SSB standing orders
• Maintain medical records, drug stock registers, and patient documentation accurately
• Assist medical officers during emergencies, surgeries, and routine OPD duties
• Supervise junior ranks and ensure discipline at the work site
• Carry out engineering, communication, or pioneer field tasks at border posts when posted
• Follow CAPF rules, uniform protocols, and chain-of-command at all times
• Be ready for transfer to any SSB unit across India, including border areas
