AIIMS SRF Neuroanaesthesiology Recruitment 2026: Overview

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi needs a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in its Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care. The fellow joins a research project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the notice is marked urgently required.

The project, code D644, is titled Development and validation of robotic probe holder device for ultrasound-guided central venous cannulation. Central venous cannulation means placing a catheter into a large vein, a routine step in critical care that doctors often guide with an ultrasound probe. This project builds a robotic holder for that probe and tests it, so you will be working where clinical anaesthesia meets device engineering.

The engagement is contractual/ad hoc and tied to the project, which runs until 21 March 2027. It suits a science or professional-course graduate who has cleared a national test such as CSIR-UGC NET or GATE and already has at least two years of work in the field.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• DST norms: The fellowship amount, experience rules and age limit all follow DST guidelines. The notice itself does not print a stipend figure or an age cut-off.
• National test route: Besides NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) and GATE, selection through national-level exams run by central bodies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER and NISER also counts.
• Tenure: The post ends with the project on 21 March 2027; it is not a permanent AIIMS position.
• Interview: Only shortlisted candidates are called, and the invitation comes by email.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Incomplete or late applications are not considered.
