IIT BHU Junior Research Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi (IIT BHU) is hiring a Junior Research Assistant (JRA) in its Department of Electronics Engineering. The post is part of a research project sponsored by the Council of Science & Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CSTUP), sanctioned for up to two years (2025-27).

The project is titled "Development of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Medical Things-based Wearable Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitoring Device for mHealth Applications", under project code R&D/SA/CSTUP/ECE/25-26/772. It is led by Dr. Priya Ranjan Muduli, Assistant Professor in the department. If you have an electronics or physics background and want hands-on research in wearable health devices, this is a good entry point — but only residents of Uttar Pradesh can apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Uttar Pradesh residents only: Research assistantships in CST-UP funded projects are open only to Indian citizens who live in Uttar Pradesh.
• Tenure: The position is purely temporary and ends with the project.
• Shortlisting: The Principal Investigator may limit interview calls to candidates with qualifications and experience above the minimum. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted.
• Preference: All things being equal, SC/ST candidates get preference as per Government of India rules.
• Age relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India rules.
• Joining: If selected, you are expected to join immediately.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Funding rules: Guidelines of the funding agency and Government of India rules apply.
