AIIMS Delhi Pathology Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is hiring project staff in its Department of Pathology for an ICMR-funded research project (code I-2036). The project is building a novel ultrasonic spray-coated polypropylene tube that preserves cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples longer, so that cancers spreading to the CSF can be diagnosed more accurately through cytology and immunophenotyping. The work is led by Dr. Lavleen Singh, Assistant Professor of Pathology, as Principal Investigator.

These are temporary, project-linked posts. The project runs for three years, from September 2026 to September 2029, and your engagement ends with it. If you have a life-science postgraduate degree or a lab technology diploma with bench experience, this is a chance to work on a patent-based diagnostic tool at India's top medical institute.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): the research role for postgraduates in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or an allied subject. Hands-on work in cytology, cell biology, flow cytometry or immunocytochemistry is desirable, along with sample processing, cell counting, microscopy and comfort with statistical software. CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-NET, DBT-BET or GATE holders get preference.
• Project Technical Support-I: the technician role for MLT/DMLT/ITI diploma holders or science graduates with lab experience. Knowledge of CSF sample collection, processing, storage and labelling is desirable, along with centrifuge and cytospin use, micropipettes, cell counting, lab safety SOPs, biomedical waste handling and basic computer data entry.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
• Pay: The fixed project salary comes with HRA as admissible.
• Interview: Only shortlisted candidates are called for interview at AIIMS, New Delhi.
• No TA/DA: You travel to the interview at your own cost.
• Age relaxation: Applies as per ICMR / Government of India rules, wherever admissible.
