AIIMS Delhi Palliative Care Project Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is building a full team for an ICMR-funded extramural project in the Department of Onco-Anaesthesia and Palliative Medicine at the Dr. B.R.A. Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH). The project (AIIMS code I-2023) is titled Home-Based Comprehensive Palliative Care in Delhi-NCR and aims to take palliative care for cancer patients out of the hospital and into their homes, so that more patients get support and a better quality of life.

Because home-based care needs many skills, this one notice covers doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists, psychologists, a social worker and a data entry operator. All posts are contractual project posts under a four-year project, led by Dr Seema Mishra, Professor and Head of the department. If you have worked in oncology, palliative care or community health, this is a rare chance to join a home-care programme at AIIMS.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-II (Medical): the senior medical role for MBBS/BDS doctors with experience, an MPH/PhD or a postgraduate degree; oncology knowledge-management experience is a plus.
• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): open to MBBS/BDS holders or postgraduates in Sciences or Public Health.
• Project Technical Support-III (Nutrition): for nutrition graduates with experience or postgraduates in Nutrition.
• Project Technical Support-III (Physiotherapy): for physiotherapy graduates with experience or postgraduates.
• Project Technical Support-III (Psychology): for psychology or clinical psychology graduates with experience or postgraduates.
• Project Technical Support-I (Social Work): an entry-level post for social work graduates with a year of experience.
• Project Technical Support-I (Data Entry Operator): for any three-year graduate with a year of experience; MS Excel and data-cleaning skills are preferred.
• Project Nurse-III: the largest group in the team, open to nursing graduates.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: These posts last only as long as the four-year ICMR project; they are not regular AIIMS jobs.
• HRA: Every post carries 30% HRA on top of the monthly pay.
• Post-wise age limits: The upper age limit is different for each post — check the post-wise table before you apply.
• Reservation: Reservation and age relaxation follow the prevailing Government of India guidelines.
• Interview: Only shortlisted candidates are called for a walk-in interview, and no TA/DA is paid for attending it.
• Desirable extras: Training in knowledge-management and communication technologies, and experience on oncology communication projects, give you an edge for most posts.
