THSTI Project Scientist and Lab Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council under the Department of Biotechnology, is hiring project research scientists, technical support staff and a lab technician for five funded research projects at its Faridabad campus. These are short-term project posts filled through walk-in written tests, skill tests and interviews, not regular institute jobs.

The work is varied: LC-MS/MS bioanalysis for a placenta health study, tuberculosis research inside the BSL-3 lab, a viral detection platform for Delhi NCR, a diagnostics fellowship programme and CAR-NK cell therapy for leukaemia. All the posts sit under one notice, THS/RN/22/2026, but each post has its own walk-in day, so come only on the day fixed for the post you want. Science graduates with lab experience, postgraduates and PhD holders in life sciences or chemistry will find at least one post that fits.

Posts and Disciplines

There are two Project Technical Support-III posts under different projects. The one with Dr. Shailendra Mani wants animal handling and BSL-3 experience, while the one with Dr. Amit Awasthi wants mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry experience, and they have different walk-in days.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-III

You will help set up and run the bioanalytical laboratory for the placenta study. You will run and repair the LC-MS/MS and HPLC systems, develop and validate methods to measure metabolites in plasma, serum and tissue, write study reports, and guide the junior analysts.

Project Technical Support-II

You will do routine lab work for the viral detection project, mainly gel electrophoresis, molecular assays and serological assays.

Project Technical Support-III (Dr. Shailendra Mani)

You will handle small animals and histopathology, isolate PBMCs, run FACS, and do PCR, RT-PCR, ELISA, multiplex antibody assays, gene cloning and protein expression.

Project Research Scientist-II

You will prepare recombinant plasmids, grow Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains in the BSL-3 lab, and set up biochemical, immunological and cell-based assays.

Lab Technician

You will run lab tests and experiments for the SIB diagnostics programme, keep accurate records, follow safety and quality rules, and help with field or site visits linked to the projects.

Project Research Scientist-I

You will handle pre-clinical animal studies, cell culture, immunological assays, FACS and cell sorting, and then analyse the data and write reports for the CAR-NK project.

Project Technical Support-III (Dr. Amit Awasthi)

You will support animal studies, cell culture, molecular biology, microbiology and FACS work, and help with report writing.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: These are short-term project posts. Extension depends on your performance and on how long the project runs, and you get no claim to a regular job.
• Cut-off date: The walk-in day of your post is the date used to check your age, experience and qualification.
• Experience: Only experience gained after the minimum qualification counts.
• Screening: If a large crowd turns up, THSTI will shortlist candidates with higher or more relevant qualifications and experience.
• Vacancies can change: The number of posts may change based on actual need on the test or interview day.
• Communication: Results appear only on the THSTI website, and all messages come by email. THSTI never asks for money over the phone, so ignore such calls.
• Conduct: Canvassing or giving wrong information in any form leads to disqualification.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form for these posts. Walk in at THSTI, NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad 121001 by 9:00 am on the day fixed for your post. If you come after the reporting time, you will not be allowed in.

Carry your latest CV, your original certificates with one set of photocopies, and a valid ID card. At the reception you must deposit your mobile phone with an ID proof, and you get it back only after the full selection process ends.
